I don't know why there is so much discussion on resting of players. On an average a fast bowler will have 5-7 years of prime form, so why not make full use of it, rather than resting every now & than.

I think he will get rest in 1-2 tests for new Zealand as shami will be back for that series

Yeah, he should be getting at least one match rest vs NZ.
Because there was no schedule for around one and half months before this match, It’s okay to play him at Kanpur test as he was well rested
