Happy Christmas everyone! That time of the year once again, it feels so very astonishing that a story written so many decades ago is relatable even for today, and all of us who're reading this is aware how it'll be just as relatable decades later. That's the true beauty of literature, no matter how long ago the nib of the pen has glided along the parchment, no matter how quickly the freshness of the ink fades... the words, the tales, the ideas live on to be just as new, just as fresh, as the time they were thought of. Absolutely loved every bit of the story. Lots of love from India❤🎄♾
As with several of your Charles Dickens 'shorts', thank you for introducing me to this hitherto unfamiliar 'piece'. I noticed a very sobering moment early on in the jollity (1:47 approx) when Dickens assumes that any given family is likely to have lost a child. It's hard to imagine a modern writer being so matter-of-fact about it.
Some of these writings of Dickens are so evocative as it seems he’s describing his immediate environs. I’ve really enjoyed unearthing these little tales!
Happy holidays 🎄🎄🎄🎄much love from Canada 🇨🇦
Nothing has changed! I just love Charles Dickens………..Beautifully read, thank you, Elliot ❤
You’re welcome, Ali!
