I’ve read this entire series, and the second generation series. The mystery component of each novel is very simple. The relationships and the development of respect and trust between the characters are what keeps me reading.
I reread the series when covid started and i remember some books dragged for me a little, but i am just soooo hooked on the whole family and the characters that i just couldnt stop reading and i couldnt even chose my favorite family member
This makes me wanna go and reread the whole series again because i truly love the original male cousins (i remember being dissapointed with the girl twins romances)
Book, "On a wicked dawn" Devil finally tells her he loves her.
Was bummed to miss the live show - I hadn't seen when it was supposed to be and missed it by an hour by the time I looked. Oh well! I completely agree that the pacing of this was all over the place and super slow and boring in the middle. The beginning was perfection that and got me hooked but there was too much of nothing going on the rest of the time. I also absolutely knew who the killer was as soon as they said that the only person who hired a horse that day was them. The couple was perfect together, however, so it made up for a lot, but overall a 3.5 for me.
Side note on third person vs first is that I definitely don't like first person as much, but I do need to be in the head of the characters and a good third person dual POV does that perfectly.
Simon Prebble initially did the recording of "On the way to the wedding" Gregory's book in the Bridgerton series. Until it got popular after the show they had Rosalyn Landor record it. I loved his version.
I think the first person chapter by chapter pov in todays contemporary romance is designed for dual narration audio.
