    I have found that making 3 double houses first is the best thing to do. Once you put your villagers in homes, you may get your first extra family in May (assuming you started in March). I think the most important commodity to have is people. So here is my first 3 steps. Build, logging first.. put two families to get more logs. next build 3 double homes and get houses for your 5 +the new family. Then the storage, food, woodcutter, and planks. Then immediately build two large double homes for the veg's and to make sure you get a new family on every successive month after May.

      If you build houses for 6 families in March, you will get a sixth family in April. First, I would advise ordering a bull, putting up a stall for it, then a logging camp and 3 double plots. If you build everything nearby, you will succeed in March.

    10. If you use the dedicated work area function for the Logging Camp and Wood Cutters Camp intead of leaving it unlimited they won't encroach on your Wild Animals. People walking through the Wild Animal circle will not make them relocate. Logging, Firewood Cutting and Building will.
    8. I find it more beneficial to have vegetable plot families unassigned, they will build for you when required then return to the gardens.
    7. With planks keep an eye on the trade rate, quite early on it will reduce to one regional wealth so it is hardly worth exporting, stop and watch until it reaches two again then restart. You need to populate the Trading Post before any trades commence, later build a Hitching Post next to the Trading Post upgrade it to a small Stable and order two Horses who will pull carts thus moving a larger number of items each trip
    6. Build queue should leave the Granary until last, wait until the Storehouse workers have recovered the Supplies from the Homeless Camp then build the Granary, you need the Stone from the camp. Build queue - Second Hitching Post (order Ox) > three two family Burgages ( I prefer to make one of them a large Vegetable plot) > Logging Camp > Foragers Hut > Hunting Camp > Market > Wood Cutters Camp and then Sawpit eventually.
    5. Realistically the only Family you need to move around early game is the one which services both the Storehouse and Granary, come winter you can move the Foragers if required elsewhere. Also rather than just yeeting people out of work places use the Relocate option so you keep workers close to both their employment and housing.
    As in the comment below, always pause and inspect where you have spawned as soon as you spawn, if the fertility isn't optimal start again, no shame in respawning to a better region when you are first learning the game.
    Have fun and enjoy this incredible game, the further into it you get the more the fine detail will become apparent.

      8. I just stick them on low labour jobs like Apiary or Forester
      6. I don't really get your explanation for building the granary last. You don't need the stone in a Storehouse to build the granary. You should build the logging camp before the 3 burgage plots, stick 3 families on logging so you get the logs for the burgage extensions coming in as you build the plots. My typical build order is; Hitching Post (Order Ox) - Logging Camp - 3 Double Plots - Granary - Storehouse - Vege Plot - Forager/Fisher - Woodcutter - Sawpit. I usually leave the hunting for a bit as you don't really need it straight away.
      5. It's a bit more difficult on the current patch to move around granary/storehouse workers considering they are now the only ones that can run market stalls
      You should try out different starts rather than only doing rich fertility. Having rich fertility is great, but it's not necessary. The only time I re-roll is when I get rich stone because that is completely useless right now 😅

      @@Alter_Ion Your point on Tip 8, this would work but during spring / summer when they should be tending the vege plots they're off planting trees or harvesting honey, I guess both methods work and it is personal preference.
      6. The point I was trying to make is there is time to build a Storehouse and Granary before the first Pantry (Hunting Camp, Foragers Hut, Fishermans hut) becomes full, I build the Storehouse first and populate it so the Bandits don't steal Tools (with the new patch there are six Artisans that require Tools to for construction which becomes important when you wish to build a Blacksmith early to replace weapons lost during Bandit eradication) and once the Storehouse is populated they will bring in everything from the Homeless Camp Supplies pile, including the Stone. If you build anything like I do the first Storehouse and Granary are next to each other so the build time for the Granary is reduced.
      5. We're talking early game here, the impact of moving Storehouse / Granary workers around is minimal at this stage.
      If you note the last few words on my fertility comment I said "when you are first learning the game"
      As to other starts, I do play them, the latest epiphany I had was using Forest Management on a Rich Deposit of Berries, one particular instance resulted in 750+ units of Berries per season.
      Just as a clarification, all my comments here are based on the default setting.

    BEST TIP EVER.
    Again the best tip is your closing. All games have learning curves, yes watching videos can eliminate many a failed starts, but also takes away from enjoying the splendor of the visuals and the immersion only making the next goal after completing the current goal.

      I’ll reply to this comment, thank you for taking the time to comment on all of the tips. Lots of stuff that I can improve on and I’ll be using it in my own play through. Exporting the firewood will be 100% something I do and having the horses next to the trading post.
      I will be making another video with everyone’s tips from this video because they are great!
      Once again thanks for taking the time to reply and for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

    First 3 houses should be double burgage plots (ones with room for extra family). Not only is it cheaper to build, they also use only a single stock of firewood for 2 families.

    Yep, common sense tips for new players. One thing I suggest to all new players is to pause the game right at the start and check out where the areas are that you might want to be farming later. Don't want to be building houses on those few areas of decent emmer soil. Oh and if you are playing on harder levels, don't build granary and store house first, you might not have enough logs then to build a logging camp :)
    Other thing I would say to new players is to hold down tab from time to time. It shows you a lot of information about your houses, your people, and even your troops.

    I keep my veggie workers in the apiary. Great synergy and this way you have another type of food.
    I start with another ox, logging camp and houses first, even with supplies lost. Having +1 family within a month helps a lot.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #6. Housing is my #1 priority, usually 3 double burgesses plus a (highest priority) logging camp. First it adds 50% to the workforce, second it eliminates the homelessness negative to have pop growth the first month, which you have space for, and you’ll have the minimal drain on maintenance resources or workforce stopping to collect firewood. Next build is the second hitching post, then food harvesting, then granary and store house to pick up the goods before the second rainfall.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #5. After the logging camp is built, I’ll assign 3 of my 5 pop to cut trees, once Imhave enough logs to finishing building all my housing, I’ll drop them to one. If Fish or Berries are still proc’ing, then I’ll try to maximize the harvest to get extra trading goods, but move them all off to keep momentum going for the next goal. Manually moving pops is good micro because you can pick the least productive worker to start the new job and trigger a change in the activity of the family members.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #3. Creating a second township for a remote resource if VERY time consuming, so I’ll limit doing so for only rich iron, salt, or farm as these are labor intensive production lines. For stone and clay, it’s just a harvest and factory built remotely to save time moving resources back and forth.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #4. I’ll order my second Ox immediately, and make the second hitching post a second priority, because you’ll only lose an unhoused animal if it ever becomes idle, which hopefully won’t be for a long time. But, for the Horse I’ll pre build it’s hitching post next to the Trade Post, and wait until it arrives before setting up the first export to make sure the Horse is being used for its benefits.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #8. Veggie families will have two members ignore their assigned job to work the backyard, so I assign them to jobs that only use one family member. Hitching post, Sawmill, Bee Hive, and others. Also assigning a veggie family to a granary or storehouse does maintain the marketplace without someone to “peddle” and leaves the free member to do the important job of taking the cart to collect larger amounts of the stored goods.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #2. It’s best that every Burgess have a backyard extension, and that unless they are planned for Veggies or Apples, they are as small as possible. Veggie and Apples should be large, but keep in mind the labor drain, and the storage capacity of the level of Burgess.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #7. Planks are a tough good to produce because the Ox will prioritize providing logs to new builds over feeding the sawmill. Using half the Ox for the sawmill, or holding off on builds slows momentum. Early trade is important, so my only purchases with the starting money is an Ox then a Horse. Trading spare firewood pays for the horse in one trip and adds momentum. Depending on the situation, selling extra berries or fish is my next export. Beware, your “trading” character will not complete if moving near a bandit camp.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #10. If you are going to talk about moving the animals, you may want to also talk about putting a field on top of berries in order to protect losing them from deforestation. Also a mention of the tab key, is an important tip in general, but also to find those shrines.

  • @jvoodoochild2755
    @jvoodoochild2755 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

    #9. While having exclusive granaries or storehouses might be good in the mid game, I usually place the factory building next to the harvest building, and have my original storage in a different location. So excluding the harvested materials from the storage is what I mostly use the advance tab for.

    #1. The “cookie cutter” designs are hyper efficient for most of the game mechanics but not all, like stocking firewood, water, going to Church or the Tavern. Every random new map presents its own challenges so playing the situation is a better approach imho.

    The problem with having dedicated storage for certain tasks is it eats up manpower when you need those collected/sold in the market

    • @Auzmur
      @Auzmur  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      True, I’ve found for iron it works pretty well having a dedicated storehouse as the regional wealth gained outweighs the manpower lost (in my opinion). But yes you are right the loss of manpower can hurt.

    You can put vege plot workers on literally any job you want. 2/3 of the family members will always go collect vege's when it's time. Putting them on corpse pits is a waste of labour. Put them on low labour jobs like Apiary or Forester so you at least get something out of it.

    • @Auzmur

      Personally I like to use the religion statue. It doesn’t mess up the trees if placed in the forest and I usually delete them right afterward. Make sure your game speed is paused so you can take your time to locate them where you want them without time passing

    Hitting the Z key during the load screen puts you in pause mode. The Esc key skips the in region part of the loading screen.
    Build a double burgage near the trading hall for your traders. This way you won't risk reassigning them while they're out of town on a trading mission.
