Good morning- i liked this statement. As we worthily partake of the sacrament, we witness that we are willing to take the Savior’s name upon us and keep His commandments and do always remember Him, that we may have His Spirit to be with us. In this way the covenant of our baptism is renewed. The Lord assured His disciples, “As oft as ye do this ye will remember this hour that I was with you.” When we are worthy of taking the Sacrament l, we are worshipping Him. Every time we remember Him he can be with us!! That is so awesome!❤😊❤
Happy Wednesday! Although Sunday is a day to rest from our everyday labors, it’s still a day of labor (church callings and responsibilities, choir practice, ministering, my sons usually have additional meetings that they go to). However, somehow, I still find rest and renewal on this day. It must be because our focus is on our Heavenly Father and serving others, rather than ourselves.
I also like this statement from Elder Kearon, about how we approach the sacrament, each week: “We may have been conditioned to suppose that the purpose of the sacrament is to sit in the pew thinking only about all the ways we messed up during the week before. But let’s turn that practice on its head. In the stillness, we can ponder the many ways we have seen the Lord relentlessly pursue us with His wonderful love that week! We can reflect on what it means to “discover the joy of daily repentance.” We can give thanks for the times the Saviour entered into our struggles and our triumphs and the occasions when we felt His grace, forgiveness, and power giving us strength to overcome our hardships and bear our burdens with patience and even good cheer.”
Second comment- I miss the voices of these Apostles. Elder Perry used to visit our ward in State College, Pennsylvania. His son was doing graduate work at Penn State. His grandson was in my Sunbeam class with my oldest son. They are both 45 now!! ❤😊❤
That was a really good reminder of the importance of keeping the Sabbath. It was something I needed to hear. It’s a commandment, and if I can’t obey something as simple as that, what does it say about me?
