Great job Sir and I applaud your eye sight. I would not be able to lay down any straight stitches without a brighter light right above the sewing needle.
Hell yeah, didn’t know you were over on TH-cam. Been rocking my Das Offene Meer Houbei for roughly 5 years now and no wallet has come close to replacing it. Best of luck to you!
I love watching how you work, and the products you create. For a bag like this, which you have clearly put a lot of time into getting the production process dialed in, how many hours of labor is in each one? Do you make them in batches and sell what you have on hand, or do you make each one only when there's an order for it?
Awesome! Been working up the courage to try and make a weekender bag myself! Love these types of videos. You wouldn't happen to have a video where you make bags with a liner would you? Liked and subscribed!
Awesome work man, well done! Every time I make something similar I argue with myself if I should add lining, piping & binding or not. It makes a difference, but it also pretty much doubles the work, and then good luck finding someone to pay for my time. People just don't understand how long those things take if you want them made properly. In the end I only do it if the bag is for me or someone I love :)
Hey sir, thanks for the cool video. Can I ask what thread and needle do you use for your machine ? Where do u recommend getting great quality hardware other than buckle guy? Thanks !
Sorry for the simple question, but I’ve been marking my cutout lines with an awl and it’s very difficult to see with my sketchy eyesight. What is the skinny pen/marker you’re using to mark your layout lines. It seems very visible, compared to what I’m doing and it looked like you were able to erase some of those lines with no residue. Ty in advance.

Love to hear that!
Top shelf brother! Tremendous craft and excellent production. Will definitely follow.
Much appreciated!
So cool watching you work! Is there a way that I can get that pattern?
I’ll digitize it soon
Is there any chance you might adapt this duffel into a smaller briefcase? Beautiful bag.
Yes I have that bag already:)
That was very interesting to watch. A great craftsman.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This feels so much more authentic than other channels. Love your craft man keep it up.
What a genuine compliment. Thank you!
Craftsman doing their work is always a pleasure to watch. Kudos, you make excellent leather goods.
Thank you very much!
Very nice bag! What is your cutting surface? Can’t find exactly what it is and if its better than self-healing mats. Thanks!
Japanese cutting mats from Rocky Mountain leather supply

This one takes about 6 hours. These are made to order
Gorgeous bag.
Thank you:)?
Will this be available on the website or is this a one and done because I’m interested.
This can be custom ordered. We can discuss leather and pricing options via email sales@osleather.com
Loved going to Italy and to the leather market. But I love seeing how it’s made more. I wish I had the skill to do this. Amazing work. I want one.
Thank you! If you’d like to order it’s on our website:)
Off topic, but I can't quite figure out what's written on the right hand's fingers...

Beautiful work ! What brand double sided tape are you using ?
Just good old Tandy!

Not yet but I would definitely been down to do a liner tutorial
Absolutely beautiful bag. 💼
Thank you! 🤗
saw your stuff on reddit the other day and admired it.
you do excellent work. thank you for sharing your process video!
Much appreciated!
Love to see great American craftsmanship.
❤️
Love the sound of the leather, sewing machine, blade and the end product
Thank you!
I know he’s traced the cut lines well, but damn…the way he free-hands those very long cuts without a straight edge is amazing!
Thanks! The Japanese leather knife is an amazing tool with some practice
@@Opensealeather , agreed. But it still takes a steady arm.
Very nice. Obvious you really know your stuff. Awesome bag.
I try my best! Thank you

Speaking the hard truth. This one will probably end up being mine
Beautiful piece
Thank you very much!
beautiful work and beautiful bag, but I probably cost more in time, supplies(leather) than if you bought a similiar bag already made ?
I guess that depends on how much you think your time is worth. This bag sells for $999 minus $300 in materials means I made $100/hr.
Great video Mike! They are very therapeutical.
Glad you like them!
Very nice job! I’m curious, what is the clear cutting mat on your bench made of?
They are Japanese cutting mats from Rocky Mountain leather supply. Not sure the material but it’s firm but doesn’t damage knives or pricking irons
incredible 👏 👏 👏
Thank you!
Hey sir, thanks for the cool video. Can I ask what thread and needle do you use for your machine ? Where do u recommend getting great quality hardware other than buckle guy? Thanks !
I use Tex 70 and 90 dunmore 66 bonded nylon with a 16 needle. Honestly I haven’t used high quality hardware from anywhere but Buckleguy:/
Love the product, love the focus. What leather did you use (weight specifically, but tannery if you didn't mind).
This is 4 and 6oz Horween Dublin in English Tan sourced from Tannery Row
Fantastic video! This has all the right stuff to go viral. ASMR was a great choice. Keep it up bro.
Thank you!
You can already tell its gonna age beautifully ❤

Thank you!
You sir are a master craftsman.
Aw thank you!
Any chance you have plans to share a template for this one?
I think I might publish one:) I’ll announce on future videos if I do

Most people will see a bag. I see a whole side of leather. You definitely get what you pay for. Great craftsmanship.

Excellent work, but that's got to be one expensive bag.
You’re not wrong haha
@@Opensealeather You get what you pay for...no doubt your work is worth it.
I’ve never used my Japanese knife backwards but whatever works, right?
I use it both ways. Normal for curves and reverse for straight lines:)
Hello hello! It’s been a while…just getting back into it after almost 2 year layoff, bad, bad back injury.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hope you’re healing up
