Holy Cow...I've been searching TH-cam for help on this topic (I'm starting a pod) and this is easily the most helpful video on this topic I've ever seen. The examples you give to demonstrate how the settings affect how the video looks are gold. So so helpful for a novice like me. Thank you!!
It will do it's best to keep both in focus, but if one moves farther or closer away from the camera, the camera will be forced to choose a primary subject and focus on that person.
I have a dinosaur, I mean a Panasonic Lumix G7. I can never figure out which settings to use for video. I am sitting very similar to you in this video, distance wise. The Lumix G7 doesn't seem to let me AF my face from a far, it needs me to click the shutter to first, which I can't from afar while sitting on my podcast desk... Any suggestions?
Hi there! I don't believe that model has continuous, eye-tracking auto focus. That's the setting you may want to look for, sometime labeled as AF-C (auto focus continuous).
@Riversidefm How do you increase the overall volume of your videos? On some its loud and on others its quiet. Ive had this problem for years even when i set the audio gain properly. Thanks
Okay, I cannot get my Sony a6400 iso any lower than 100 and I am still getting pixelating and smearing on my greenscreen. I am trying to do a two camera shot as well between two different computers as well. I have made all of the same changes you recommended from freshly reset cameras and not having a good time with this at all. What else can I do?
It’s flawless. I’ve been around set design and production for a very long time so zero wrinkles and it’s perfectly lit properly so the color is even throughout.
If I dial it back to HD, it’s not bad, but the whole point of these cameras is that I can capture in 4K. I have 4K lines I’m hardwired in to both the computers and the Internet and when it records locally on the chip inside the camera it’s perfect.
AF will do its best, but if they are different distances from the camera one will be more in-focus. Try to have both subjects the same distance away from the camera.

So glad you found us! Appreciate the kind words 🙏🏼
the Eye tracking with AF-C and wide mode works with 2 peoples on a podcast?

What cable did you have mounted to your cage and then plugged to the cable?
That's a mini-HDMI to full size HDMI adapter that attached to the cage. You can grab it here: amzn.to/3kKC2fc
@@Riversidefm Thanks!

What software are you using to edit? You can try to "normalize" the audio on export which aims to keep a consistent volume level.

I don't have any issues on my other stationary set BTW
How is the lighting on the green screen? Are there shadows or unevenly lit areas?

What IF there's 2 people in frame (Host and Guest) Will it AF on both?
AF will do its best, but if they are different distances from the camera one will be more in-focus. Try to have both subjects the same distance away from the camera.
@@Riversidefm Thank you. This helps a lot.
