I remain astonished that there isn't a secondary safety line behind the helm seats. it's not a case of if they will fail and dump the helmsperson into the sea - it's just when.
hello Tony yes you're right always better to have more safety when sailing offshore. There are 2 standard safety lines behind the helmseats and I always add a 3rd one higher up, going from the solar panel stand to the side of the boat
Thanks for your comment! We arrived in Tahiti a few days ago, after sailing 10 300 nautical miles. Average speed 7.5 knots, top speed 18.6, many days between 160 and 200 miles

hi DB, our average speed was between 7 and 8 knots of the Atlantic. A bit faster in the Pacific
