Agree with you about the catalytic converter part.... But now that Royal Enfield has a separate part as catalytic converter after the bend pipe, can I change just the silencer without meddling with the catalytic converter?

Thats really a great video especially for me as i Own a Bs6 RE Stealth Black abd clocked 1800kms and just yesterday i changed my exhaust to mini punjabi...i feel the engine is smooth , bit of less vibrations , easier to ride ( comparing the original exhaust ) and above all felt like flying with all eyes on my Beast RE , but after seeing ur vd i will change it bk to the original exhaust may be today 😀..

Hi Vishvesh, I have 2 months old classic 350 reborn and after first service & 800 KMs I changed the stock silencer with Red Rooster Performance silencer (yesterday), the thing is for reborn model cat con had to be removed as well and was replaced with the free flow pipe provided by RRP itself. My questions are 1. Would removing the cat con cause any additional harm to engine.
2. Can I keep the RRP on and use the bike with it for travelling within the city and can I ride the bike with RRP without any significant issues on engine for long

Hey! Well it’s hard to comment as since the ECU has not been remapped and no one knows if the RR team did the dynamo testing with this kit on stock ECU mapping for the RE engine.
Usually it shouldn’t harm the bike’s engine but if you feel an increase in engine temperature then please revert to stock as it can be an indication of high pressure on piston rings.
Yes you can but be aware that after market silencers are illegal and can result in a fine if your city traffic police is stringent about such things.

Yes you will face the issue of mileage and pickup as the ECU programmed as per the back pressure created by the mufflers in the stock silencer coupled with the catalytic converter in the bend pipe. The issue and mileage is least with K-Indori though among any aftermarket silencers

Dolphin is always a free flow exhaust and I don’t recommend it. The bass is really high and good if it’s ceramic wool and not glass but long term effects are bad on the engine and even on long rides it hurts the ears of the rider badly
I am using jb race with glasswool filter silencer for my bs6 standard... Is that good or is there any prblm with the above mentioned silencer?
You’ll face mileage drop and lower acceleration and torque at higher speeds as it’s free flow. Moreover it’s glass wool so it’s not too durable too, I don’t recommend free flow exhausts but if at all then please choose ceramic wool as it’s more durable and long lasting in terms of sound production

Removing it would basically remove a part of the exhaust path that it’s designed with but the effect would be barely noticeable since the main path is behind the Db killer and it’s use is to mainly suppress the sound further.
Removing it is tough and might leave some machine marks on the silencer too so if you can do it cleanly then go ahead it’s an alternative worth it if you like the sound without it

More pickup is with a free flow exhaust like the launcher or any other, but you’ll compromise on mileage, initial torque and acceleration at higher speeds

It’s a free flow exhaust so it would give you negative effects in the long run. For now you’ll just experience a slight drop in torque and also in mileage.

As I’ve explained in the video later on, free flow silencers are the worst as they don’t create any back pressure whatsoever hence there is zero gas scavenging effect too. So a free flow silencer would give you a higher initial acceleration but lower acceleration at higher speeds, low torque, lower top speed and you’ll have a heavy drop in mileage. Plus it’s illegal in almost every state of the country.

Hey! No it won’t, you are switching from a stick silencer to another stock one so it will only be different aesthetically and won’t effect the performance in any way
Hi i have bs6 classic 350 .. i juz changed Motowings exhuast yesterday .. They told its an performance silencer not harmfull for your engine so i installed..
It’s a free flow silencer with glass/ceramic wool so you’ll feel the mileage drop down by around 7-10 KM/L easily. Any free flow silencer would result in mileage drop and decrease in toque but give you higher initial acceleration

No you can’t. They have not yet come for silencers for the Classic Reborn or the Meteor. You’ll have to use the stock silencer and i highly recommend you stick to the stock silencer only for optimum performance

Interesting.. When I bought my 2020 RE C500 it felt choked all the time.. I replaced the header pipe and muffler with the curved header pipe and short bottle (pea shooter) muffler, also fitted a DNA air filter.. My mileage has increased, it sounds a lot better and the bike rides a lot better (it no longer feels choked).. Ive ridden just under 20,000km in a year and the bike is running brilliantly...

Short bottel can use, saliman company short bottel 2,3filter low suond, please tell me i can use this, milage effect
Short Bottle or Short Bottle Punjab of any company is a free flow silencer and will give you very high sound at the cost of low mileage maybe around 25-30 at max depending on vehicle age, low torque & it’s illegal in every state of India.
I highly recommend not to use any free flow silencers especially long and short bottle.

I always recommend stock exhaust myself to anyone but if you are using a genuine K-Indori then it’s fine as it won’t harm your engine so you can stick with it if you really want that sound

Bro catalyst is in the bend pipe, not in the silencer, when you change your exhaust just have a look at the end the bend pipe, that is the catalytic converter

No that one is fine as it’s designed by RE only for their BS 3 UCE engines so the brand even honors warranty on the engine if using that silencer.
Brother can i install indori in my standard bs6 will it be safe for the engine ?since catalytic converter is now there in the bend pipe itself.
I don’t recommend changing silencers but yes if you want to then get the genuine K-Indori. It’ll work in BS 6 and your engine would be safe too so don’t worry. Just make sure it’s original

Yes it will, my Bullet is a BS 4 model only
In bs6 we have got a catalytic converter which i guess clears the gases so the bend pipe is not freeflow. But if i change the silencer to a freeflow silencer will it affect any which ways ? Because the bend pipe is not hollow.

Well in case of a BS 6 model the issues escalate a bit more as it’s FI and like I’ve mentioned in my video you cannot remap the ECU as per the new silencer. The catalytic converter is there along with two more filters in the bend pipe like the BS 4 models but the silencer is not creating the back pressure according to which the ECU is mapped for so now in the longer run you will surely witness lower mileage and are already seeing a drop in acceleration at higher speeds aswell as the amount of torque the bike is generating when compared to what you might’ve felt with the stock silencer on.
I personally don’t recommend changing silencers on a Royal Enfield as it’s not only illegal but when done on a BS 6 model the sound isn’t at par plus you invite a lot of unwanted issues such as mentioned above. Ride safe :)

To be honest for long rides bs tours I don’t recommend a silencer change as you need the torque for long cruises and the constant exposure to higher sound levels for a long period of time can hurt your ear and head.
Still if at all K-Indori is what I’ll recommend as yes it has three baffles which to some level compensate for all the side effects of a silencer change, the sound is pretty close to the old CI engine aswell. I’ve reviewed it on my channel some time back & was using it myself for a couple of months & have no qualms at all.
Get the genuine K-Indori if at all and not a copy which is free flow & you’ll be good
@@vishveshmishra3894 I would like to correct you that the ECU recognises the working of the exhaust system thus it would not require any sort of re-mapping. I do agree with the drop in mileage and torque as you've mentioned for a free flow silencer. In the long run it would damage the exhaust valves too.

No it won’t affect it in a day’s use. But you’ll notice the mileage drop and difference in torque immediately

Hey! Changing to any after market exhaust will harm your engine in the long run since you can’t remap them ECU yourself, it’s best to use the stock exhaust or get the ones the RE sells itself as they are made as per their engines. Moreover using an after market exhaust would void your engine’s warranty if seen by the service center during any of your service sessions.

Depends on how long you’ve used the after market silencer for and how much difference has it made to the engine but still in normal cases you can expect a near to original mileage.
Also watch my video about the Servo additive, use it and clean the entire fuel and ignition system to get the best out of your bullet. It can restore to your old mileage if it’s just high carbon deposits all over the system

I don’t really recommend changing silencers on a Bullet especially on the BS 6 variants now but if at all you want to change it then yes K-Indori is the best option and it’ll look great & sound fine too. Not as good as on BS 4 and backward models but it’s still good.

Haven’t used it myself but from what I’ve heard from others it’s good for the price. Almost all genuine K-Indori silencers are same in terms of sound and build as you can’t change the internal design nor alter the material quality unlike with free flow ones where it all depends on the shape and the ceramic or glass wool that’s it’s stuffed with.
Bro I am using motowings short barrel in my classic bs6 model for me it is giving 36km/L in city. Many recommended it is good. What is your perspective in it ?
Hey! It’s a free flow exhaust and I don’t recommend any free flow silencer as they drop the mileage and initial torque along with top speed for the sake of sound and higher initial acceleration. If you are fine with around 6-7Km less mileage, which would drop even more in future with age, then you can use it.

The Classic 350 with its original silencer gives around 40-42KM/L if driven with proper tyre pressure and gear ratio. Mine gives around 40 in city and it’s three years old but like I said, if you are happy with its performance then no issues. Ride safe and enjoy :)

Han hoga, koi bhi free flow silencer pehli bat toh illega hai aur usse bike ki mileage bahut kam ho jati hai and BS6 me around 20KM/L tak aa jayegi kyuki uska ECU aap remap bhi nai kar sakte. Please don’t use such silencers, use stock silencers or RE genuine ones

Hey! Just like any free flow exhaust the Red Rooster would also increase the initial acceleration on the bike along with lowering the mileage. If you want high initial acceleration and that sound while mileage isn’t your priority then you can surely go ahead with it.

Bhai mere pass BS3 classic 350 hai, silencer rust lg chuka hai, BS3 nhi mil rha toh BS6 ka lgaya hai, kya engine mein koi problem aaegi aur BS3 mein BS6 lgana theek hai yaa nhi?
Han koi issue nai hoga, BS6 ke silencer me bas ek added filter hai compared to BS3 version which is better toh aapko mileage bhi thodi better milegi

Maximum around 2-3 KM/L if you ride properly. You can use it for long rides as the sound isn’t too heavy and won’t irritate your ears

Hey! Red Rooster if the original one would work fine but obviously considering it’s a “well thought” free flow performance exhaust you’ll witness lower torque and acceleration at higher speeds along with mileage drop. Yes your initial acceleration and torque would definitely increase which most people look for. Use it for a while but I’m sure on longer rides you’d like to switch back to stock as the loud sounds is not only irritating but can cause hearing damage too on really long continuous rides

Piston rings get affected in the long due to free flow silencers the most so just see that you don’t use it continuously for thousands of kilometres or ride at very high speeds for long with that on

I’d recommend you opt for the genuine K-Indori from brands like Top Bird or Globe, counterfeit are of no use and cause more harm than good. So either Red Rooster original or the genuine K-Indori would do.

Red Rooster is also a free flow exhaust so it’ll act like one aswell with higher initial acceleration, drop in acceleration at higher speeds, a slight drop in torque & mileage but due to its long bottle design it gives a much better sound and distinctive looks which are its selling point.

Yes you can go for that silencer and it won’t damage your engine.

The stock silencer and any other silencer are completely different and you can’t compare them in terms of the number of filters they have as the design and function of those filters are different as well. Changing the silencer does create issues in the long run & hence I don’t recommend doing so which you can see in my other videos too but still if you really want to then K-Indori is the better option out of the lot.
Yes you can do so without any adverse effect on the engine but just an advice that don’t ride a Bullet at around or over 70KM/Hr for long as it’s not a high rev engine so keep varying your speed while riding.

Vishvesh Mishra And those filters are not the filters present in your stock silencer. They are catalytic converters too, before BS6 models they were present where the header pipe ends and now they moved it upwards so it got all the attention of being something new..
As I’ve mentioned in my video that the stock silencer in RE houses filters as well as the catalytic converter as it’s obvious that you can’t have any road legal vehicle in the modern age without a catalytic converter built into the exhaust system.
What I’ve said is that after market silencers like the K-Indori has baffles which to some extent create a back pressure but then that’s even illegal cuz it doesn’t do the cleaning job properly which is required to adhere to the emission norms.
Is Peashooter is better than k indori ?
Technically and legally it’s better but sound wise it’s not. If you use it you don’t have to worry about warranty void or anything else and it’s legal too so no issues of a challan but it’s sound is identical to the stock exhaust so you won’t get the sound but just the looks.

None do that bro as that sound level is illegal hence no locally produced silencer will give you those sound levels. The RE Pea shooter is one option that will give you some extra sound and won’t affect the engine or the sound

Also according to you which one should I get meteor with chrom exhaust or the matte black one ? Which one is better ? I have heard black one gets faded soon and it's a dust magnet and easily gets dirty n all ? Is it true ?
I prefer the matte black as it’s easier to maintain in the long run but needs daily cleaning by yourself which I can do rather than going for professional cleanups of chrome parts. Rest is your personal decision

Kuch nahi hota..mere friend ke paas 1991 bullet hai shuru se hi silencer change tha..ab tak sahi chal raha hai..
The 1991 Bullet uses the CI engine with a C shape bend pipe and no catalytic converter.
The silencer that came stock with it is the Indori itself and is made for that engine by RE so it’s not a changed silencer moreover since the bend pipe is already free flow the engine and it’s carburetor is tuned as such that it won’t harm the engine even if you use any free flow silencer on it later on.
This is the reason older bikes were not compliant with European aswell as BS standards and hence are illegal on road now with no fitness extension.

Agree with you about the catalytic converter part.... But now that Royal Enfield has a separate part as catalytic converter after the bend pipe, can I change just the silencer with meddling with the catalytic converter?
