Sea Life London aquarium opened in March 1997 as the London Aquarium in the County Hall on the South Bank of the River Thames. the aquarium was purchased by Merlin Entertainments in April 2008 and closed for a £5 million refurbishment, which was completed in April 2009.
During the refurbishment, new additions and features were added including a new underwater tunnel, a Shark Walk, a revamped Pacific Ocean tank and a complete rerouting of the exhibit. The attraction officially became a Sea Life Centre when it reopened in April 2009.
In May 2011, the aquarium opened a new penguin exhibit, with 10 Gentoo penguins transferred from Edinburgh Zoo and in 2015, the aquarium was moved to a different location in County Hall due to the opening of Shrek's Adventure! London.
Tickets for Sea Life are currently £27 for a standard ticket however you can purchase multi-attraction tickets if you plan to visit other Merlin Attractions close by such as Shrek's Adventure, London Eye, the London Dungeons or Madame Tussauds.
Sea Life Aquarium London is included in the Merlin Annual Pass and is free to enter for all pass holders. Restrictions may apply to some dates depending on the type of pass. Pre-booking is required currently and a time slot needs to be selected. The attraction will usually take on average around an hour to an hour and a half.

4 years ago they had a great white and I was lucky enough to see it cuz the next day on the news I saw that it had died at the age of 25 and it made me really sad and I cried 😔

I am watching for my daughter’s first birthday day out. Why is it so dark in there.?
Hope you all have a great day for your daughters birthday, I presume they have to keep the lights low as bright lights will disturb the fish. I also think that if the lights are bright on our side, it makes it more difficult to see into the dark tanks, all you see is the reflection of the lights

No, I don't believe there are any white sharks in captivity anywhere in the world
@@PlanItPark ah ok but them sharks that were quite big looked like great whites
Yeah they look quite ferocious, with sharp pointy teeth, they are Sand Tiger Sharks, SeaLife state they are not a danger to humans though. The Sand Tiger Sharks have two dorsal fins on their backs which are roughly the same size while the Great White Sharks have one large and one very small second dorsal fin.
Is it worth ?
It's £29 per person if you pre-book so it isn't cheap for an hour or two, however it is a great Aquarium and we enjoyed our time here. You can also save some money if you get multi-attraction tickets for other Merlin attractions nearby, such as Shrek, London Dungeon and London Eye.
