I attended a rehearsal this morning. Such intensity and emotion - the friendship of these two brilliant men on stage was a privilege to witness. Memorable!
what a sweet soul Emanuel Ax is ! - and so very wonderful of the Philadelphia Orchestra to present these kind of intimate slice of life videos for classical music lovers to enjoy - a real pleasure to sit in and listen over a warm cup of coffee
This is what authenticity, kindness, and humility looks like. These are literally world-class master musicians and they discuss themselves light-heartedly and enthusiastically without the least trace of pretense or arrogance. I always thought Ax looks authentically happy in photographs; I'm delighted to learn what a gracious, gentle, mellifluous person he is. Fantastic video.
I just came back and found this charming conversation between Maestro Yannick and Mr. Ax - who is a familiar pianist with the Orchestra. I attended the Orchestra rehearsal this morning and enjoyed it very much. How lucky we are to have the Orchestra, a conductor like Yannick, and guests like Mr. Ax. Thank you for this glimpse into some relaxed moments of two great musicians! (Cecilia Segawa Seigle)
I love this video and Hope you produce many more similar videos. This is a good way to get to know the maestro and Emmanuel Ax. of course I enjoy watching their performances but I can't really get to know them through that. This was great thank you
What sweet guys Emanuel Ax and Yannick Nézet-Séguin are! It's nice to know that there are musicians such as these who aren't prima donnas. A great interview March 19 on "Fresh Air" with Nézet-Séguin, talking about how important classical music is, especially during difficult times. Definitely worth the 45 minute listen: www.npr.org/2020/03/19/817760744/this-is-why-we-play-amid-pandemic-philadelphia-orchestra-livestreams-beethoven

Seguin is a world-class assclown. Otherwise, nothing.
If watching that short video does not raise your spirits, I don't know what will!

Lovely yet too nice and sweet, just like their music making. The way Boulez or Gould or Richter speak reveals a different caliber of intellect.
==The way Boulez or Gould or Richter speak reveals a different caliber of intellect== Quite right. This Manny+Yannick schtick got a big tiring
I liked the talk about cooking and baking.....
I'm amazed!
