Too many other games have been inspired by CT, only to fall short because they leaned too heavily on graphics, nostalgia, and vibes. The core of what makes CT legendary includes the clever writing and perfect pacing. Do your homework and get it right.
Arguably, the time travel aspect of Chrono Trigger is the least important part. The game works because the story between the characters is *deeply* compelling.

Definitely some old school RPG enjoyers in the dev team :) Immediate Chrono Trigger vibes, and the camera movement during combat was reminiscent of Golden Sun's. And the logo artwork surrounding the game's title has Final Fantasy inspiration all over it. Definitely gonna be keeping an eye on this

The lazy sprite and disconnected storyline. the interactions between characters are close to none. gameplay doesn't evolve. octopath 2 has almost identical movesets as octopath 1. The game is not bad but not final fantasy level. It feels like a cheap iteration.
The title makes me think of Threads of Fate, the game makes me think of Chrono Trigger, and the viking guy just makes me think of Torbjorn from overwatch if he was a ginger.
