    Great video! Happy to see some criticism of a feature delivered "halfway" in many ways and not the way I believe we really wanted it.
    I love Notion, but it seems like sometimes their team doesn't see or use other tools like Tasked and how people REALLY use things like lists, tasks, and recurring tasks.

    The only true thing we’re missing now is offline mode because this is truly the update I’ve been waiting on

    Thank you!
    I use it as recurring tasks generator by filtrating auto-created tasks into separate table view with "Date is empty" and maybe "Tag is Habit/Routine/Recurring", so I get a full list of upgoing tasks within one day. Works fine for me

    You are close to getting the auto created tasks to show in the calendar view (or any other view). You will have to click on "..." in top right corner of your table, then "Layout", then "Calendar" and then on "Show calendar by" .... There you select the custom property that you've made "Show in Calendar" 9:55 code:[ if(not empty(prop("Date")), prop("Date"), prop("Created time")) ]
    And that should do the trick. Thank you so much, with your help I've been able to come up with this. Hope this helps.

    I’m excited to play around with it! Hopefully they continue to expand on it. I’d love to be able to pre-populate dates into the future. Also I can see that template situation getting out of hand if you have a lot of recurring tasks

    OMG, Thank you!!! why on notion official tutorial is NOTHING about created time, I spent three days to figure out why page don't have a date when its created. You save that function for me :)

    I fussed with this forever. Thank you for verifying that the recurring task does not populate the field even though when I apply a template it DOES populate the date!

    You are one of my favorite Notion gurus. I had an idea I don't know if you've thought about it or not. One thing I like to see on my task lists/calendar is what is coming up. As you know the task won't appear until it is "created". I made a formula as you did to use either the "due date" or the "created date" but also I added onto the "created date" to add 7 days. That way my due date formula is always 7 days ahead and I can see what is coming due for the next 7 days.

    OMG. I rarely watch your videos although I am a subscriber. But in this one I learned three things that I can implement into my own workflows. Entering the template's Page Name into a filter being the most important one. Thank you so much for your content ❤️🙏

    Thank you so much for this tutorial! I am new to Notion and knowing it would not auto populate into the future helped so much! As well as by date. I think this is the main thing missing and I hope they add this function soon.

    I'm new to notion and all I want is a user friendly way to organize my business. It's kinda ridiculous that there has to be a 24 minute video on simply trying to set reoccurring tasks. I have to use inputs too? Crazy!

    Hello! Thanks for the video! I would like to know if you can show how to show recurring future tasks in all calendar. Because I want to create a weekly routine and than repeat it on the next weeks of the month like in Google Calendar or iCloud Calendar. I am really struggling with this. Thanks one more time for the video!

    Thanks for the introduction! As I love your Budget Manager template, could I use Recurring Tasks for monthly recurring spendings like subscriptions? I created individual templates for each monthly expense and set the monthly recurrence there and also created the Created Time property. However, this is not displayed in the monthly view. Does this have to do with the fact that the template is not automatically linked to the month via a relation? Do you have any idea for a solution?

    Is there a way to distinguish between recurring and not recurring tasks? Essentially, after creating a new task how can I verify if it will re-create itself at a specified time?

  • @krisxsee
    @krisxsee ปีที่แล้ว

    In my case, Rollup doesn't see selected Relations with Recurring.
    For example, I used a template from the "Notion for Habits: How To Build A Habit Tracker In 2022" video. Analytics DB just ignored days with recurring. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @jefffstone
    @jefffstone ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait...
    I made a task recurring everyday. I've set the date and time. I got a notification on my pc and smartphone when the date has come. And... what? Nothing else happened. The date field is just marked red and that's all. What should I do to move my task on the next day?

  • @ClaireLouiseHolt

    Would this feature be of use for a budget calendar for repeated bills etc or would it not be able to work due to not being able to populate until the date has passed? Not sure if am missing something

    Thank you !but there is a bug in the Recurring function of this update. If you create a fixed relation between the task database and the project database in the Recurring task template, after run, the task database created a new record and relation with the project, but in the project database,it is not relation with this rucurring task! This is a big Bug, right?

    Rather than creating a formula to auto populate date, perhaps use the filter function and input "Date Is Today"?

    Anyone having issues with relations on recurring pages? It seems that the database to which the recurring page points to does not see the instantiation generated with the recurring feature. If I remove and then the relation back again or if I generate an instantiation manually by clicking on it on the "new" menu, then the related database sees it.

    Hi, first off, I love your videos, you have the best videos on Notion formulas. Now this is my first time asking a question on TH-cam , so please be gentle. I know that this question may not belong here, but these videos seem to be the most recent, so I thought I would stand a better chance of a reply.😨 Can a CASE statement be used in Notion formulas instead of nested if statements? Thank you for any help🙏
