Thanks! OMG you are so great! folks! Let me tell you, the accompanying materials for this tutorial are absolutely fantastic, and the checklist and tips provided are an incredible bonus. Now, let me just say, you must be a true virtuoso of Notion to have effortlessly put together such outstanding content. However, I can't help but express my gratitude for the immense amount of time and effort you have dedicated, as well as your remarkable ability to teach in a clear and concise manner. How fortunate am I that just when I decided to revisit Notion after years of not using it, this video appeared and addressed all the frustrations I initially encountered. I must admit, I am feeling exceptionally inspired!
This video is probably the best notion content i´ve seen on youtube! I´ve been struggling to find a good way to do my konwledge management at Notion and this is pure gold! thank you so much for your content!
You are my new favorite person! I am crazy new to Notion and have been trying to figure out how to make a certain database for as long as I have been playing around with this (about a week maybe?). I have tried, deleted, reattempted, redeleted and on and on. I finally came across this video and it is EXACTLY what I was looking to do! Thank you so much for keeping the hair in my head!
Brilliant, thanks for your ideas and your way to show and explain things. Those new area templates, self-referencing and pulling in all the content - that's such a powerful tool. With it Notion can truly help to connect all the ideas that otherwise would be sitting somewher in Evernote or in files on hard drives. Thanks again for showing how to do that 🙏
amazing tutorial - the follow along material is great and the checklist and tips are an added bonus. maybe since you're such a notion whiz the content was easy to put together...but i can't imagine that's true - thank you so much for your time and effort and your clear and concise teaching style. lucky for me that when i decided to come back to notion after not using it for years, this video came out and explained all of the frustrations i had at the beginning. super inspired!!!
Thank you for sharing! 😊 Loads of good stuff here. I am hoping Notion will one day introduce cascading tags, to give tags a sort of folder structure - at least 2-3 layers deep. I have a lot of subjects and my picklist would grow more and more unwieldy.
I've been using a global tag DB for years now. It was recommended by the Notion team on a livestream when I asked. Very nice of you to share it. Also it makes things easier to find. E.g. I have a quote database and sometimes I just want to look for quotes which have the tag "Wisdom". Now instead of creating a new view for that, I just go onto the Tag page and look for the linked pages in my Quote database. CTRL + P rules!
This is so useful thank you! I get stuck though at 6:43 where you point to the "example pages and databases" panel above the areas. I can't see that. Cna you please help? thank you!
Amazing Tutorial, Thank You so much. You explain things in the simplest format that even a dumb person like me can do it. You taught better than my teachers at school. Keep it up.💕
is this an updated version of your masterdata base video form 2 years ago? I have several clients, each of which will have to-do, meetings, notes, etc. additionally, we'll also have team meetings, notes, to-do which should all combine into a master calendar. Alas, i cannot decide the best approach to set this up
You definitely packed a lot of info into this. Thanks for your hard work. I am wondering why you chose to put the Global Tags database on the the Global Tags page. Is it to have the intro information at the top? I made mine as a new database, standalone. Took me a bit to picture what you did against my own databases, but I finally got the hang of it. Thanks so much!
I love this video and your 2023 starter video. A question I have is how would the glossary in the 2023 video integrate into the Global Tags database since they both have a type field?
Hi! thanks for that video, it was really usefull for organizing my tags. A question i have is, is it posible to update templates from de global tags database? for example, you create a new page that uses Area as a related tag and you want to see this information in your global tags for Area (Tasks, Notes & Contacts). Should i go on every Area adding this new database view?
Thanks for this! I've been creating multiple databases for different metadata (Year, Month, Category, etc), and this one database version seems much tighter. I also like how you created templates inside the body of each global tag. That's smart to create contextual views. Time to go create the Global Tags database :)
That’s awesome 👏 Multiple databases can sometimes be useful if you want very unique properties for each type of tag. Months come to mind for habit tracking. Glad you liked it
You’re amazing. I’ve been quietly learning from you over the years. So grateful for your knowledge sharing, your unique takes on knowledge managment and notes organization. Thank you for all your generosity.
Hi! What software did you use to record this? How did you highlight the areas where yo u click to help viewers? I need to do something similar for a tutorial for work and this would be great feature to use. Thanks.
Thank you for creating this video! Gave me so many ideas for other parts of my Notion setup. I was wondering, for databases (e.g. Contacts, Projects, Tasks, etc) do you keep a page with all these "master" databases to then link to in different parts of your Notion?
I have an issue with my setup that goes like this: Topics live in Areas. And Notes and Tasks live in certain Topics. If I link a Topics database as a linkedin view into an Area page and I click one of the topicpages I cant go back to the Area. It takes me back to the Topics database.. I was wondering how I could fix this navigation issue.. do you maybe know? Thanks in advance!
First, I would like to thank you for your amazing content, it really is extremely useful! Second, I was wondering if you have any solutions to the following two problems: 1-I only have one page in a gallery view and but there's a very large "new" button next to it when I don't need it, how do I hide this? 2-Is it possible to create a dynamic ranking system? For example ranking pages in a database from 1 to 10, where every time I change a number it automatically updates the rest of the numbers. Thanks a lot!
Hi Red, don't know if you'll reply but, can you update your study notion template (active recall, spaced repetition) and youtube tracker that you made earlier???
@@RedGregory Thanks a lot for your reply red, I wish if you could reinforce and modify those legendary templates you made with the latest updates of Notion!!! It would break the internet and obviously can be counted as a legendary tool!
And all I wanted is to have a text column automatically turn into a tag , there's no way to do this can you believe it , I have notion database automatically updating externally , but I want some of the column cells to be tags because they repeat , Can't do with template , Can't do with roll out , Can't do with relation , Can't do with recurring tasks , Can't do with formulas , and Can't do with master tags 😭

Your presentations are getting better and better. You used to have long hair in a baseball hat, and you slouched, and did not look at us, your audience. You no longer slouch, and you look at us more than once. This is a great tutorial. I must have missed something, but what do we do with already developed databases to get them here. If I did miss something, my apologies, if I didn't miss something, how would we do this?
@@amandak.4246 I agree but at some point, tracking things could become counter productive. For example tracking habits like brushing ur teeth is counter productive if you need to context switch every morning for data entry. Especially when she tracks so much granular things it become more counter productive.

I don't think this obsession with productivity is productive ironically, you should try to be more nimble and not wait for things to be perfect.

My brain thrives on granular systems 😅 but I know it’s not for everyone which is why I try to make content outside that scope as well.
Who cares El.
