It's going to be a good birthday this year. I already own a UK import of The Trial in 4k But I'm definitely going to buy the criterion version. It is one of my favorite Orson well films and Anthony Perkins is just an amazing actor. The book itself is legendary.
I'm not sure if you know this but Studiocanal in the U.K. released a 4K version of The Trial last year. It was most likely the same transfer that Criterion is using but with the added bonus that Studiocanal's edition had HDR added. Something to consider. I'm currently leaning towards grabbing Studiocanal's 4K edition and picking up the Criterion Blu-ray for the bonus features.

If I turn a Criterion Blu-ray over and it says 4K restoration, then I put it back as it will eventually be released in the final format anyone needs.
