That's what I do, I use disengage all the time, any time I need to move quick, even to move forward I just juimp and turn around and then disengage to go in the opposiute direction

Question for you: I was using wowsims and with P1 BIS it says that Engineering is only like a 10 dps increase over regular enchants. Do you know if this is correct, and if so why does everyone recommend Engineering for hunters? JC in comparison was like 90 dps difference
Thanks!, glad they've been helpful for you. Depending on how you have the sim setup you will see a bigger or smaller increase in enchants/gear, etc. But engineering is taken for the huge amount of utility it provides such as rocket boots, parachute cloak, sappers, grenades, etc. Edit - Ideally you have both Engi + JC
Great video Veramos! Hopefully a better explanation for those who continuously spam the Hunter Discord and don't read the pins first ;p. Just a quick question, do you also encounter scenarios where your trap doesn't deploy when the macro is used? (I do have it macro'd with Raptor Strike).
@velek I was having the same issue that you mentioned macroing explosive trap with raptor strike. Sometimes my explosive trap didn’t go off with that macro and I was at a net loss in dps due to it. I then switched it to just cast regular explosive trap without the raptor strike method and I was parsing in the 90s. If you are encountering this issue I suggest to just have a regular explosive trap cast, as an extra raptor strike isn’t worth the explosive trap not going off.
The abilities/CD timers in the middle is bouk's WA pack, and the hunter's Mark is just a simple WA I've been using since TBCC. Both can be found in my discord.
How should I trapweave as a MM hunter in the beginning with readiness? use all shots -> trap readiness and the same again? or should I only trapweave again once the 20 sec debuff is expired?
Ideally you drop your first trap right at the start of the fight then pop your cooldowns. But yes you should/can still trap weave with all your CD's going
Would you be willing to make a video of survival hunter rotation? Like prioritizing certain abilities at different times during boss fights and what not. That would be sooooo dope! Unless you have one out there somewhere and I just haven’t came across it yet 😅
Thing to note about lock and load: use that scrap bot from TBC (forgot exact name, but it is targetable), place it on a safe distance (boomking starfall or other sort of AoE), shot trap on it every time when LnL in off cd and voila, you have perma LnL up time. Also, if you can pre trap, you can use lower rank trap prepull and normal rank trap and you get 2 traps at the same time. Thank me later

Vermos mentioned the bosses that have enormous hit boxes that you probably shouldn't trap on besides the initial pre trap. however, the majority of the bosses are pretty easy to get it off. I just started trap weaving because of vermos and my dps shot up like crazy. I am far from doing it perfectly. But that means it gives me something to work on in this boring phase
I just consider myself a pseudo-melee on some bosses run deep (center of the circle under them) and use raptor strike as I come in, use explosive trap as soon as it comes up. I run in a little early, like with 4 seconds left on explosive traps CD.
What’s really funny, and nobody talks about it, is the one spell that makes Trapweaving actually worth it: Judgment of Wisdom. If you are in a dungeon or 10 man without JoW, there isn’t much of a point to trapweaving because it costs way too much mana to lay down an explosive trap. I was checking the sim for a long time until I figured out that JoW basically gives more DPS to your trapweaving than every other buff combined.
i still dont see, how trapweaving aka explosive trap is better on bosses that are single target (as surv ofc) rather then just use black arrow... which is single target dmg and dmg boost

You could, and some people do but there are very few bosses that you'll actually have time to let a raptor go off on.

Thanks, I personally don't have a specific explosive trap macro, just straight spellbook. I typically don't have an issue though.

Is it worth trap weaving with stacked haste buffs? IE lust, rapid fire, imp Aspect of the Hawk, speed pot etc..

Both will be competetive. Some bosses will favor SV, others will favor MM. Regardless in full P2 BiS they are only a few hundred dps apart.

Drop a new trap whenever it comes off cooldown and safe to do so depending on the boss. After Chimera/Aimed if MM and after Explosive Shot if SV

This is from private servers with different scripting and does not work in WotLK Classic
Like Simeno said, unfortunately the lower rank pre-trapping was only a private server thing and not possible in classic which is why I left it out.

It has been talked about in the hunter discord but it's only a difference of 1-2 extra bite casts throughout an entire encounter
I'd enjoy trapweaving if bosses didn't have such insane hitboxes.

As Joseph say, certain bosses its just a pretrap, or maybe a trap for when saphiron is in airphase and lands again

trapping on kt is pretty scary If your guild isn't fast with cyclone, you can easily kill your mc'd melees and potentially grief immortal

You still take advantage of sniper training in between trap cooldowns. You only have to do it once every 30 seconds
