So here's my idea for you and your new show... HGTV's Hot new show 'The Five-Year Plan!!!'. On this show Realtors will only show homeowners houses that they can pay off super fast! A lot of the show would be running the numbers and teaching people how to read and understand mortgages and amortization schedules! People would love it!!! However Realtors and Banks would hate it :-)
That’s an interesting idea. I personally believe that lenders should be required to show the total amount something costs when people make minimum payments for the full loan term. I wonder how many people would rethink purchases or try harder to pay off things faster if they saw the total cost in writing when they sign on the dotted line.
We have been working on paying off our house for the last 3 years. We have 3-5 years left. We will be around 35! You guys just lit a new fire under me. We can do this!! Thanks for the motivation. You guys are going to do great things!!

Are you guys able to do a "how we did it video?" I'm curious how much extra you guys put down on your mortgage each month or did you have big chunks of money that you put down on it? What percentage of your budget did you put down extra on your mortgage? Did you get to a point where you were paying 50% of your income on mortgage, etc...? Way to go!
