Hi!! I didn’t have to cut anything. There a clock module that you take out to make room for the double din screen. That’s what i had to do. You can compare my dashboard with the original LR4 dashboard to see the difference. Please let me know if i didn’t understand your question well. Thanks
It inverts for sure. I don’t remember if it dims or not. Never bothered me. I don’t have the SUV to try it and tell you. Sorry about that. Also their new version might support dimming if the old one didn’t.
When I go to the website via your link, it has an area to select “AC core”. I have a 2016 LR4 w the Harman Kardon system like you. Which AC core did you select? It’s a bit confusing.
Hi Brian! The hardware and software have changed since i bought mine. It’s all updated. Hopefully it’s all even better. Back then, they didn’t even have the AC panel for LR4 so mine is what the car came with. I also don’t think you’re require to change that if you don’t want to. Also, my system is not Harmon Kardon. Mine is Meridian. I guess Land Rover decided to change the head unit in 2015 or 2016 to HK. My LR is 2014. I would ask the seller directly. Sorry I’m not much help in this case. Good luck! 🍀
Hi, thanks for the video! I just want to know, seeing that the volume and power buttons are removed, can you only change the volume on the steering controles? And is there any way of putting the system on if the vehicle isn't on? Seeing that the on button is removed. Thanks
Hi, great video! I have some questions...is there any tutorial available to mount it? then... my Discovery is 2020 model, I'm wondering if I will keep the original functions on the upper screen. Thnak you
Hello, I don't know of another tutorial beyond what I have posted. Maybe do a search. Maybe others have posted something else more useful than mine. What original functions are you trying to keep? All options offered on the old screen, it would be still available on the new screen :-)
Thanks! Very helpful video. Do you know any unit which will not lose the controls in the center? Of course that would be a smaller screen than this…but thats fine.
Hello! I’ve seen options with smaller screens on AliExpress. I just don’t know if they’re as integrated as this one. You may lose access to your original Land Rover Menus. But I’m not sure!
I don’t think so. AirPlay uses WiFi and Bluetooth to connect to the phone. I don’t think it’s design to connect multiple usb/bluetooth to the head unit at the same time. I would try it for you but I sold the SUV. Ran out of room at my house…
I sold the car and i don’t remember ever trying it. I think the CD changer mechanism is below the screen and i didn’t remove it. I imagine that you have to access the CD Changer from the Land Rover menus, not Android menus. Ask the seller to be sure when you’re ready to buy one :-)
“Hi! I have an issue with my car’s audio system - during calls, the person I’m talking to hears their own voice twice, like there’s an echo. I tried checking the settings but couldn’t find a solution. Do you have any idea why this is happening or how to fix it? Thanks so much for the help!”
Hello! That's something I never got around to fix, but I had a workaround. If I wanted to talk to someone, I always switched back to the old menus that originally came with the car. When you go to the old menus, you'll be connected to the original stereo Bluetooth connection, and that works great without any echo. I suggest talking to the vendor you bought it from and trying to do a video recording of the issue. That should help with language barriers. Hopefully, that will give them a good idea of what the problem is.
Essentially, Apple CarPlay is just displaying what's on your phone. So If you can figure out how to keep the map offline on your phone, it should also work in your car. I assume that it might be easier to get done with Google Maps than Apple Maps. I would look online to download and keep maps offline on your phone. There should be some information online. Hope this is helpful.
Amazing bro,
I have a 2011 LR4 and dying to do this as well... do you have a working link to the radio and did you ever do a video on the install????
Hello good luck for the new screen, i would ask you did you meed to cut the frame below the original screen to install the new one?

How well does the screen dim for nighttime driving? Does it dim, or does it invert (white to black sort of)?
It inverts for sure. I don’t remember if it dims or not. Never bothered me. I don’t have the SUV to try it and tell you. Sorry about that. Also their new version might support dimming if the old one didn’t.
Hello great video. I realize you do not have the car anymore but do you know if you can still run the rear entertainment system with this screen?
Sorry I can’t comment on this one since I didn’t have the rear entertainment system.

Hello! NP! Yes. the steering buttons work to change the volume and change the song.
Also, you can use the on-screen volume, power button, or change the song.

Camera function correctly? I have the vision package and use these features frequently
I had the same package on mine and worked just find. You basically go through the car/original menus to access the cameras. So no change there.

Can you tun CarPlay, and have a passenger play music from their phone plugged unto unit’s USB at the same time?

What brand is that ? What country are you in ?
Hello! I’m in the U.S. but I bought the unit from AliExpress. The link is in the description. I don’t think i saw a brand name on the unit.
Does this work with offline Maps ? or do I need to always keep my phone connected ?

Hi fitted this but no sound any ideads?
Sorry about the delay! I don’t have a good guess if you have followed the instructions that came with and followed this video.
My LR4 was longer in maintenance... i can't remember the password für admin advanced settings? something with 888xxx or 666 i think. Any idea?
I don't remember unfortunately. sorry about the late reply.
Who can help me fit this in the UK?
wellworth
What year was this Rover? It seems the 12 on up work fine with these systems since they’re Bosch but the Denso units have issues.
Hi! Interesting! Mine was 2014 model.
