Dear plaiting of hair is not a sin. let's examine the Scriptures 1Timothy 2:9 & 1Peter 3:3.
Now I strictly recommend King James (KJV) if you don't want to be mislead. It is a truthful and accurate translation of the original Scripture texts. You can research the history of KJV Bible for knowledge.
1 Timothy 2:9
[9]In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
Hear it says not with broided hair. Broided hair is not just the plaiting of hair. It is the weaving in of ornaments like gold, beads, cowries, attachments etc into the hair to achieve beauty and attraction. You can better understand this with embroidery. Which is the weaving in of ornaments into fabrics. So hear it's not saying you should not plait your hair but not to add ornaments into your hair. You can see women today adding ornaments to their hair which also includes all kinds of hair attachments.
1 Peter 3:3
[3]Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Hear it's not saying you should not plait your hair. Otherwise woman should also not wear clothes (apparel). Is the Bible then saying that women should go about naked? Certainly not.
Here the scripture enumerates some of the worldly woman's way of beauty. Which is only focused on achieving outward beauty.
Then in verse 4 it clearly shows the godly woman where to beautify and how.
[4]But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1Timothy 2:9 we examined earlier makes clear the type of plaiting of hair and apparel a godly woman should not engage in.
Broided hair: This is the weaving in of ornaments into your hair. Which has gone beyond plaiting hair to the pursuit of artificial beauty.
Costly apparels: which has gone beyond covering one's nakedness to a thing of pride and show off of wealth.
I hope this clears all confusions on all sides.
