Yes agree, it’s common British business language. Courtesy and politeness can build a better bridge of communication. It is good to show mutual respect as much as we all like to be the only and most valued customer that they’ll serve, the reality is that they may be dealing with many attention seeking customers like us on a daily basis. Therefore sending a polite and gentle reminder to let them know that you’re still waiting for some update is no harm and they may treat your case or enquiry with some urgency and prioritise if necessary. The vast majority of British people may not work their guts out everyday to show personal performance at workplace, but it doesn’t mean they’re not productive. The speed they work is very much driven by their workplace culture. Their style may not be your style but it may not be the wrong style if you know what I mean 😅
@@Zonjai I know the feeling as I often get chased for reports from clients but they’ll certainly be politeness and ask about my well-being first before they get to the core business. The ones that chases will likely be prioritised😉

我半年內試過錯上手電費及電話費，講了幾個，不同CS,最後credit百幾磅，仲要之前direct debit 唔出聲任debit, 如果唔check 銀行月結單唔知。唔怪得請咁多CS, 電腦系統又癈，唔準

睇咩人啦，係英國好多西人既L樣係Email都好直接1句起2句止架咋，我Draft個Email成幾段字又有禮貌又Subject line又Body text又greetings，跟足Structure分哂Section 成篇範本咁淨係問佢2樣野，D L樣係真係會1句就答你，連Dear \ Hello

電話唔一定有用，佢地成日扮唔係度
就算有聽，講咗少少，到入肉時，佢哋果邊條電話線會經常斷斷續續，我明嘅，拉出推入吓條電話線就有咁嘅效果喇，我經驗係你自己唔好收線，一直繼續講，我聽到你呀，死唔斷氣會有D用，我曾經打電話去保險公司提供嘅電話號碼相心佢哋有無收到我的電郵，足足由1130開始撥通電話直到1500才問到佢哋收到我的電郵，總之，呢度係咁上下，要有心理準備。
所以呢個地方一點都不適合英文程度不好的長者
