And it means more to people that aren't as popular as Frank Sinatra. Once I realized this couple that nobody's ever heard of published this song... Tears of joy.
This is definitely the best version. The harmonies and mixing are perfect, the production is superb. The words that are sung sound sincere and authentic and warm.
@@gerardgrenier8573 I really prefer that version the best as much as I love Michael Bublé , I just think Robbie with Nicole's beautiful voice sang it perfectly.
Covers are just plagiarisms. They shouldn't exist unless it's a reimagining. Cover versions just cheapen the song. For example anyone sing the song but the creative process was the original writing and performance.

The sound quality is so much better than what I heard before. I can really here the increased contributions of Gaile compared to some of the more recent versions.
Their phrasing is fantastic, and Gaile is a far better singer than Nancy S. (Also, there's something a little creepy about a love song sung by a father and daughter.)
I think it’s the double tracking on Gaile. Haunting and wonderfully precise. Makes for an emotional listen. Just heard for first time today. Glad I found it.
first time hearing the original of one of my all time favorite songs! thank goodness for finding it here. I believe this is the best version and it is the original I can feel the emotions of the singers, there is such genuineness, so much integrity as they sing it. Simple melodies, simple musical accompaniment, very 60's - a decade of wonderful romantic melodies standing up to the influx of the beginning of hippie and hard rock music.
They used the Lola Marsh version, also excellent, but I can't find it anywhere! This is the original from 1966, before Sinatra made his version a mega hit.
unbelievable, , just can't believe that the version from frank sinatra was the cover version until some random guys channel,, incredible, love this song so much,,
Carson and Gaile's album "San Antonio Rose" (containing this song) was released in March 1967. Frank Sinatra's "The World We Know" (containing the Nancy Sinatra duet) was also released in the same month.
Hmmm....I'm getting hints of cedar and pine. Crisp, wispy snow and burgundy wine. The aprés-ski may go long into the night with many cheeses on a blanket by the fire. Until I go and spoil it all...
Gorgeous, I never knew he wrote it or about this version. I still prefer Frank & Nancy's version, even if it was father & daughter because FS was a master and he always had the very best backing musicians in the business; the likes of Glen Campbell and Hal Blaine were on their track but this original is truly beautiful. Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman also did a version but she is no singer and butchered it.
