I think the video glitched after T11 the LMP disappeared :p . Pass on 8 was Race level. I'm sure the driver just wanted you to go home with a big smile.
The Fact that you can keep I'm in your eye sight at this track says a lot about the radical. No standard road car could come close to that. Like that Viper ACR you passed
www.RUGISSANTE .com I’d be surprised if that were the case, in the right hands an Oreca should beat any road car whether it’s an RXC or not; I don’t doubt that your road car is rapid though and would beat me in Top Trumps ;)
0:21 What a fu**** up way for that LMP to pass. The Viper had to brake at Apex to yield. Staying closer to the Viper would be so much safer for both of them.
This is an HPDE (point taken), but it is an advanced open-passing group. Folks in the session generally all race and are allowed to pass in any safe manner desired. There was nothing unsafe about the pass. The only thing possibly objectionable about it was that both cars had to sacrifice a few 0.1 of lap time for the pass - but it's an HPDE, so laps times are irrelevant (as is track position). Bottom line is that I disagree with your opinion that this was in any way unsafe. It would be unsafe in a novice group.
@@joeracer I think you missed my point. 1, LMPs and Radicals can out brake Vipers(Not only Vipers, most touring cars.) 2, LMPs and Radicals can carry a lot more speed at corner entry. However, the advantages here will be eliminated by unnecessarily trying to enter the corner from all the way inside. HPDE is a great place to practice, not just only to practice driving when you have clear track, but also to practice interacting with other cars. You just don't enter the braking zone all the way inside when the car being passed stayed all the way outside. Tell me, if you were the driver in the Viper, and saw a LMP passing you almost parked at the apex when you had a good entry and ready to get back the throttle, how would you feel?
@@joeracer When somebody does something that is not expected by other advanced drivers in an advanced group, don't you think that is unsafe? But, It doesn't really matter that much. Thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed watching you driving your radical. Really nice driving there.
actually on that more detailed point... I do agree that the all-the-way-inside at the apex braking line is a bit silly. I would have done my braking alongside the Viper, though still inside of it. I think any pass is safer if there is a higher chance of the passee seeing the passer. I guess my point is that passing under braking into a corner is racing 101. An advanced group driver, even at an HPDE, should know and expect this. I do agree with you - now that you pointed out the extreme inside line - that it was a bit silly. I'm not sure about unsafe, per se, but certainly not ideal. I suspect the LMP owner was concerned about getting near anything with that car. It is a monster!
I miss my Radical. Great driving Joe! Great work to Radical for winning this year's 25hrs of Thunderhill!!!
That was fun to watch, thanks!
Absolutely sensational driving - and what a machine. I need one,
Great video , I am dreaming of having one Radical in the future .
Nice driving in under powered Radical against million dollar LMP.
truly world class driving
1:28 the head shake was priceless 😅
That was...radical...
2:01 damn the LMP PULLS, but the SR3 is much faster in corners
The driver is faster in the corner not the car. The Oreca should have smashed the Radical.
Thanks for the ride!!!
Why'd you get mad at the 1:25 point?
Had to rewatch - just general frustration that I couldn’t get a solid run out of T6. The hand wave was not visible to the driver. That was for me.
Advance group drivers should be aware and not affect the pace of faster drivers. Otherwise, they belong in intermediate.
The other car looks like more a Pescarolo or Oreca LMPC.

one of these for sale near my house and I just wondered what it could do...
The Oreca is to OP. Excellent driving from the radical
mesmerizing to watch

My road car could if the Ocean was not in between :)

What is the weight on your car?
sr3 is about 600kg (race version)
That looks like an Oreca FLM09, not a Porsche LMP. Great driving though!
I think you're correct. I've had a few folks point that out in this thread! It was super fun regardless!
good stuff Joe
Looks like a lot of fun.

1:22 I felt that
A Radical SR8 would have passed that Oreca easily... fast on corners + straights
No. The Oreca has much better aero and more power, than an SR8. It's a much faster car.
nice pass/es @ 6:50!
Passed my dream cars
If it wasn't for the LMPs' horsepower......
Hahahaha!!!
hahahahahahahaahahahahaha!
