This is the song that got me hooked on Covet, and the more I listened to them, the more I fell in love with Forrest's writing and playing. So awesome to see a playthrough of this!
So simple yet complex at the same time. And his relaxation while effortlessly shifting into different melodies/time signatures, outstanding and kind of mind-blowing. My first watch of Forrest and I'm a fan. 😮
He’s so full joy. I love this dude and wish he was still in Covet. His drumming flows with her so well. Having said that, Yvette did find a sick ass drummer to step up.
@@matthewmalphrus2906 to me Both of those drummers play and have a different sound than Forrest. Just cause they effortlessly weave chops in their drumming doesn’t make them the same imo, it’s about expression but to each their own I guess. This comment makes it sound like they’re bored or envious of dope drumming lmao
I’ll agree that there’s a lot of similarity in the community today with the prog/gospel chop thing, but I find it refreshing. And similarities in a genre aren’t the same as similarities in the drumming world at large; billy Martin doesn’t play this way, no need to. Same can be said for matt chamberlain, jay lane, stanton moore, ash soan, Todd roper, matt abts, Fred eltringham, George sluppick, Jj Johnson, Alan evans, shawn pelton, ect. Be happy it’s starting to sound similar to you, may signal your creative side getting the itch to deep dive into some new music/drummers/styles!!
This version of Covet was a magical moment in music. For me, at least. The bass and drums wrapped around Yvettes guitar and made a super being.
so upset he left, he was the perfect fit for Yvette's play style
Not according to her 😂

I did not say there was a falling out.
@@justinrensel8518 my point was it had nothing to do with the relationship or work flow between Yvette and Forrest. Forrest left by his own decision.
yess, i dont get why he left, great music.
also her compositions made his drumming better, also his drumming made her songs better too.
This dude really makes those tunes come to life. very intricate and nuanced playing, love it
Love seeing some official Forrest playthroughs for Covet!!
Too bad he’s not with them anymore

Likewise. What an album
I’m so stoked they have put out so many vids with Forrest!
Stumbled into this and absolutely love it.

Wow these drums and cymbals sound phenomenal. Props to the mixer and whoever tunes the kit. And of course the player makes a lot of it
I wish they would credit the mix engineer. Sounds like a Nolly drum mix big time
Excellent song. Excellent mix. Excellent drummer. Excellent smile!
One of the best drummers out there!
Forrest you’re so creative!! This is brilliant

When I get another set... I think I've been convinced at this point to just spend the money on some good meinls. This channel is too damn good.
Forrest is so good, can’t wait to see where he ends up next!
Damn, I really love how and what he plays, breaks my heart I'll never get to see him play with Covet.

Good drummer, but everyone plays the same way in our Times . Mix of portnoy,/ Collins /fills of heavy métal and Bonham. Good music and drummer.sorry.
Don’t be sorry. But name me two other drummers that play the same way
Brian evans, Andy prado, anyone of their peers too
