      @@elijahsoper339 yeah I had epidurals didn’t help. My surgeon says my bone did not fuse so the slight movement is causing the pain. At least that is what we hope is causing the pain I guess I’ll know in about 4 to 6 months. I will try to update a new video post surgery.

    Do you remember how big (in mm) was you L5-S1 disc herniation (protrusion)? I was diagnosed exactly with the same thing, 7mm, MRI technician asked me to stay after the MRI and told me it's important I don't wait for 'description' or mRI but just immediately go to consult the professors what to do, I went, and had prepared many questions about what I can do and what not, but first words of prof was 'consider a surgery' (and the same prof didn't push at all for surgery my friend who was in far worse pain). I was quite in shock. But at that time I was already in UPWARDS trend, improving every week, just because I KNEW exactly was caused by problem (horrific position with computer), stopped it 100%, and even reversed it (new position is kneeling forward, exactly like physio's recommend to exercise, so to me it's not an exercise I just do it ~ 10 times per day for few minutes). Results after about 3 months of my ordeal (actually since a month I wouldn't even call it ordeal anymore) are more than satisfactory and I'm optimist for further improvement. I walk without a limp already (though still not a 100% definitely). Not taking any risks in the gym (no any overhead lifting etc), but doing everything else. My personal advice (I'm NOT any medical professional!!) to anyone dealing with spine problem: identify what is exact CAUSE of the problem in your case, and eliminate it totally.

    Hi sir. After the microdiscectomy mey left leg start to feel numbeness and tingling this is 1 week now. Before the pain is in the right leg but its gone now. What it bothers me. I feel the tingling and numbess now in the left leg. Please answer if you feel the same after the surgery?

    • @KBradAdams
      @KBradAdams ปีที่แล้ว

      I had tingling in both legs after the discectomy, and my calf muscles always seemed to twinge or jump, not bad but enough to know the nerves were not healed. I still have numbness in the left calf and foot if I lift anything heavy, because I waited too long to have the initial surgery. My right leg has gone back to normal but my discectomy re ruptured so I had to have a fusion in 2020, now going for a revision of the fusion in April. How is your back now RV?

      @@BC-em6lg I'm 10 months in of back pain. I found out I have a disc buldge at L5 s1 I've tried physical therapy, chiropractor, decompression exercises, deep tissue massages, medicine, etc nothing helps. I got a steroid injection 1 week ago I'm waiting to see if it will kick in within the next week to relieve me of pain. My doc said if it helps with the pain surgery will help the pain go away. I have ONLY BACK PAIN on my left side when I sit not when I walk or stand I have no leg pain (Sciatica). Has your BACK pain went all the way away after surgery? Also did u have leg or back pain b4 surgery or both 🤔 I'm going to see my doctor in 2 weeks and ask will a microdiscectomy help with my back pain.

      @@freestylebully4849 same man I have been having back pain for 8 months now. I have a disc bulge on my L4-L5 level. Causes me back pain and some pain in my calf and ankle area. I’ve tried everything you mentioned but I have tried 2 epidural shots to only get temporary relief. My doctor had recommended surgery but wanted to go try an epidural first because of how young I am. But since nothing else worked I am going for a microdisectomy. I have not had any back surgery before btw. But my surgeon did tell me that I will feel good as new like the pain was never there in the first place. In your case since you have generally back pain. If you have been dealing with this pain for longer then 10 months that is concerning if symptoms have not gone away. Disc bulges do not heal either once they bulge out there’s no healing them. Generally non surgical options like Pt usually get rid of the symptoms associated with the disc bulge. But in your case your pain is still present. I would recommend going with the surgery. At least with the surgery you have a guarantee way of solving things. But make sure to discuss with your surgeon before you do anything. Make sure the pain you have in your back is coming from that disc bulge.

      @@freestylebully4849 yeah man no problem back pain can be such a pain but you’ll get through just discuss surgery with your doctor because symptoms lasting generally longer then 6 weeks are usually solved with surgery.
