The first Nintendo console with a “2” in the name. It’s crazy, never thought I would see the day. Now, Xbox just needs to get its sh together regarding their naming conventions.
The Wii was a major success and so was the ds. It’s not that the switch was so much more successful than those that they decided to make it 2. It’s that they f-d up with the Wii-u so badly they learned they can’t make it confusing as to what people are getting. The general consumer didn’t know Wii-u was the successor to the Wii.
2:04 Correction: Gameboy Color exclusive games did NOT have the notch purposefully. The notch was an original DMG Gameboy function. Gameboy games with color options would include the notch for backwards compatibility only, not forward. GBC exclusive games removed the notch so the DMG wouldn’t even turn on correctly if a GBC game was inserted. This is most likely what Nintendo will do, or something similar to how they re-used the notch idea for 3DS games to slightly differ from NDS carts, but save cost overall in cart reusability.
I hope they make it so that all of the games from the 1st switch will still be portable to the 2nd, because there's some obscure games on the switch that I NEED on the switch 2.
I don’t like being negative, but that trailer was borderline pointless. The only thing we got was a date for more information and a few seconds of Mario Kart 9. It’s good that this information is finally coming from Nintendo, but third-parties and factory workers are leaking more information than what’s in that trailer.
I view it mostly as them fulfilling their promise of revealing the successor before the end of their fiscal year. Now that this trailer came out, they can wait until the future to have a more detailed direct on the matter.
I noticed on Mario Kart it started on the Mario Bros Circuit and instead of going left with the circuit it was cordoned off with barriers and corner arrows going off circuit to the right leading to what looked like a long road off in the distance...What is that about? Could it be a big open world like Forza Horizon.
Only games I can see not being compatible with 2 is cardboard and VR stuff that wraps around the OG other than that I'd be shocked and very confused if something else doesn't work anymore 😂
Prime 4 has been revealed a while back. It might end up being a Switch 2 exclusive, however, since Amazon cancelled all of the existing pre-orders for the Switch version of the game.
This seems like a really bad idea. If the console is releasing this year, why not lead with a huge reveal with lots of gameplay? They failed to advertise the Wii U properly and it was an utter failure.
Successor numbers work for PlayStation, so I don't see it failing for the Switch 2. If it were the Switch U or Super Switch, I think it would be a failure from a marketing standpoint.
I think the colour controller will be sold separately, with mix and match colour, something like Xbox's customisable controller. They know this thing was a huge hit on Switch so why not make some money with it.
Curious to know the details of its new features and how different it is from the original switch. And the oled has a screen size of 7 inches. So far, visually atleast, it isn’t drastically different. Hope it isn’t just a money grab. Guess we’ll find out with time. Nice to know there’s a switch 2 nonetheless.
The joy-cons can be used like a mouse!?!?! Previous leaks showed a possible optical sensor. There's no " receiver" on the main body plus the video......
@@jimmonkey3555 Logically it seemed to me like it might be an IR sensor. A way to communicate directly with TVs, and possibly other devices, or a backup low power communications mechanism to assist in connecting. I felt leak reviewers put way too much emphasis on it.
More Leaked than GTA 6 and Half Life 3 combined so many “Credible Sources” in the dumpster where they belong. Seriously all the bullcrap about 4K DLSS Upscaling is nonsense. They finally have 1080p because we were stuck on triple digits of pixel counts for way too long. 720p is more last Gen than a Flip Phone.
I can't think of any reason to get this over the steam deck. It will be less powerful than all those other handhelds. I bought a lot of games for my switch but maybe it's just time to let those go because they are lesser versions of the game. PC gaming lets you mod and the hardware is more powerful. They were the best mobile available when they released the switch, that isn't true for this release, this will be less powerful than the deck and rog ally.
so much for apples courage that stuff coming out in 2025 still have the headphone jack. granted phones are smaller but tablets should all still include. if they have a usb c theres a port that could let water / dust in. nothings ever foolproof. as for thinness/weight, we dont really need devices any thinner than a headphone jack/ usb c port will allow anyway
Watch Nintendo go completely digital with no physical copies anymore. Or the cartridge is just a code to download the game locally and is linked to your account.
Click bait title, nothing has been announced regarding specs, only a video on what it looks like. It should have just been called Switch pro, as it is the same old rubbish and nothing new apart from slight upgrades. It is not next gen and it is not a new console. Sadly, it is in black as well, so I am holding off and hope that they release a white version. The games will possibly just be the same and if on newer hardware then the hardware will upscale. A bit like what Xbox has done.
If they called it the Switch Pro, then people would think that it's just a mid-cycle upgrade like the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. It's the NEXT Nintendo console, so 2 is appropriate. I agree that specs would've been nice to see, however.
Hopefully, Xenoblade games all run a smooth 60fps on it becaude I want to try them. I bought all of them and went to play them and I just couldn't get over those terrible frame rates. Had to sell them off.
Original Switch is $300 (Lite is $200 though), so I doubt that this will be cheaper than the Switch 1 base model. It'd be TOTALLY nice if it were cheaper though, lol I personally expect $400.

The Nintendo Switch 1 was so successful that Nintendo had to make a "2" console for the very first time. That says a lot

Can't wait for the Switch 5

@@fightnight14 facts no confusion like Wii... U and Game Boy... Advance/Color, just do what worked and put a 2 so we know what we're in for.

"Here's what you need to know" Proceeds to just say what we can observe in the trailer...
Gotta milk the hype while its fresh for those clicks
I thought the teaser made it abundantly clear that the attachment mechanism was magnetic snap-in.
We got Switch 2 before GTA 6
Wild that Nintendo was the last to announce their new console.
Nothing wild about it, Switch released 4 years after PS4 and Xbox one so the timeline checks out.
Switch 2 got some tough competition now since the launch of the first Switch.

Wondering what price will be.
$399 u.s
I'm gonna guess $329.99
$1,000 day one
Guessing $399. $499 would be absurd.
$375-399

When can we preorder it?
Those bezels are HORRIBLE sorry..
Edit: its because its uneven, even the oled ones are better come on now
What is the thing about them you dont like?
Don’t buy it 👍
Way smaller bezels than any other Nintendo devices so I'm confused
It's almost the same as the lenevo legion go. Tbh it's much better than what we previously got in 2017
@@drebone1986 oled got smaller bezels??

You have it backwards. Game Boy Color game DON'T have a notch in them. The original Game Boy carts did.

Bring in hall effect analogues!!!! We're in 2025 for god's sake

Learning all you need to know about the Switch 2 only takes 3 minutes and change
First one looks like a kid toy this version looks more mature they are catering to an older audience this time
I wouldn't be surprised if it was digital only and only has the cart slot for backwards compatibility
Please don't jinx it, lol
If someone can tell if Nintendo is upgrading servers or doing a lot of work on the servers then there is your proof
The Best Handheld in the World!!! So Exciting, Coming Soon Switch 2 Yay!!! 💖😍💝
This whole teaser was just Nintendo saying "Fine! Here...see?! It's real!...now leave us alone".
Hoping for a Metroid Prime 4
Prime 4 has been revealed a while back. It might end up being a Switch 2 exclusive, however, since Amazon cancelled all of the existing pre-orders for the Switch version of the game.
They fix the controllers? They were flimsy over time.
My biggest issue with the switch
Looks like a hall effect now.
So this video just walked us through the reveal video. Not an ounce of added value.
I hope the screen is good. Looks like it won't be OLED, so here's to hoping it has great brightness and colors.
Hopefully they keep the price reasonable. And hopefully it has some decent power.
I got 8 inches, I can confirm its a good size for a screen too.
Adaxum’s focus on innovation is what sold me on this project. Got my ADX tokens today.
I can't wait to play Gran Turismo on this
Nah you can’t hack this one 😂
Won't be easily to hack cause the chip used in switch 2 isn't used for gpu, switch 2 used Nvidia chip for Cars and robotics
I really want an achievement system for switch 2
Everything we need to know?
You know exactly the same as we do, nothing!
A more powerful, higher res Switch? Yes, please, Nintendo.
Will it be better than a steam deck
We don’t know yet
Do you think Amazon will be one of the 1st sites to pre-order the Switch 2.
Is it OLED?
