  • Without Christopher judge there would be no Dial the Gate, so it's particularly poignant that Stargate SG-1's resident Jaffa (and God of War's Kratos) joins us for our 200th episode. Christopher will bring us up to speed on his career and take your questions LIVE!

    My step-daughter went to get Christopher's auto. I was recovering from cancer and it was my birthday. I got a call from Teal'c. He graciously accepted her request to call me and he did. I was so thrilled I cried for days after. He'll never know how much that call meant to me.

      Now that Amazon has the rights, theres a chance something could happen. The only sad thing about a streaming site getting the rights, a new show would only have like 6 or 8 episodes.

    I did not see Stargate until it was in Sci-fi channel. I meet Christopher Judge at a convention that I was working and I asked him behind the stage what character he played. For five minutes he described Teal’c and I was hooked on finding some way to watch the show just because of his kindness. A few years later he came back and I told him that it was because of the earlier encounter that I was loving the show. He is genuinely an amazing person.

He gives her a super soaker that she uses to shoot Jackson who comments that he gave it to her loaded. He says, "How else would she defend herself?" before pulling our his own water gun and going after her.

    Christopher gets it! Super actor that respects fans. What some of these actors don’t get is fans get to be fans because we internalize their characters, especially when we can binge watch. I cannot stand actors that act chill about it and downplay the “role” they played like it was nothing during interviews and comic cons. Actors: What you presented the world goes way beyond a paycheck. Writers write stories with messages, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. Viewers can accept or reject. When we accept, for whatever psychological reasons, we are displeased by flippant actors at events. They should remain TRUE to their characters during interviews - after all, THEY put it out there with their gifts and talents.

  • @benw9949
    @benw9949 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I've always wondered what the actor behind the character was really like. This shows a smart, together guy with a good sense of humor, and grounded. -- I am so hoping we will get a new Stargate series continuing the TV franchise into the future, and I'd love to see the original stars (and guest characters) in recurring guest star or regular roles, so we can ge the most flexibility and bang for our buck, character and story wise. -- I was so excited, back in the day, but didn't get the channel Stargate SG-1 was going to be on, so I was thrilled when it got picked up by a local TV channel and I could finally see the show, late at night before bed on a tiny screen. Real life intervened, and so I have seen most of all three series over the years, but never all of them except SG-U. I'm now getting to do a rewatch to catch up, while hoping we'll get good news of a new movie and/or TV show, maybe an animated movie...the rumors are building and publicity is building, so maybe we are finally close to a decision. -- Keep up the good work, all of you. Stargate is fantastic. (Would be good to see Chris and others in other shows. I'm also curious how Chris might in other roles, human or alien. If they ever chose to do that, some sci-fi hand-wave to have bothTeal'c and the other character on.) -- So glad to see him interviewed and hope he'll be back for more.

      Shanks is a deva. At one point he left the show to pursue other things, and it didnt pan out, so he came crawling back. He demanded the Daniel character be made more manly and militarized. You can see as time goes on, he starts carrying a side arm, and joining battles. Then later a P-90. A very far departure from James Spader's Daniel Jackson. His personal ego, and self esteem issues had him hating that the character was inherently meek.

    • @OlympusLaunch
      @OlympusLaunch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ripn929707interesting, I never knew that, I always liked that Jackson became more competent as a fighter over time because I felt like it represented his character growth through the show being exposed to so many life-or-death scenarios that it makes sense you would need to develop those skills.

    • @ripn929707
      @ripn929707 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OlympusLaunch Well, if you look at the James Spader character, the later stage Daniel Jackson contains nothing of that persona. But, when they did alternative timeline versions of Jackson, he's a weak, meek individual. It's other things too, like he was some how suddenly cured of his chronic allergies, and I even think they ditched the eye glasses towards the end.

    • @OlympusLaunch
      @OlympusLaunch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ripn929707 Yeah interesting I guess I thought the glasses might have had to do with all the various alien healing tech he was exposed to over time, but I honestly like that they did that with his character, real life drama aside

    perfect day for Teal'c would be a good game of Golf lol, so "window of opportunity" episode? lol.
    but the spending time with his family part i get, and i agree that the Teal'c in the show would very much like that.
    there were only a few seasons and episodes that involved him and his kid Ryak and his wife, they had to live such a broken life when he left Apophis to serve with the Tauri, it was tragic but they were good episodes as it showed another side of the life of a Jaffa and what happens when he and his family are exiled from their status to a lower status in life and the trauma that must have been for Teal'c to deal with within his service to free his people.
    so i believe Chris when he says Teal'c would enjoy the same things as he would, because family is important, and keeping them secure is also important.

Then I watched it once more with one of my son's (had to find a PG version of Children of the Gods else where for him though). Also watch the occasional clips on YT that I just have to see again. My other son always finds Teal'c very funny. I have been watching season 1 on and off again. Wish there was a restored/enhaced Blu-ray edition like Star Trek TNG. Wish a new SG1 serise will be made soon and hopefully just as good as old SG1 and not to deviate from it in tone and style like Star Trek Picard is from TNG.
