Crafti (Minecraft clone) for the Nintendo 64

- After porting this game to the dreamcast, i naturally wanted to see how the N64 would fare. It was better than i expected but it still needs an expansion pack as 4MB is sadly too little for this game. Sorry guys.
Note that as far as emulators are concerned, this will only work on Cen64 and MAME.
Other emulators such as Mupen64plus or Project64 can for the most part only emulate games that used the Nintendo's SDK. My port of Crafti does not use the official toolkit, it uses libdragon so please use better emulators or just play on real hardware.
You can download it here (Crafti) :

If this is developed further and optimised more this would firmly be the most impressive demake I've ever seen
what about portal on the n64 tho
@@mikestaph well now that is
what about doom (1993) on GBC tho
@@villagerjj you mean on the GBA?

I love how this demo keeps the lack of texture filtering that defined Minecraft's aesthetic.
I wonder if this also makes it faster...
Doing bilinear filtering in software would be very slow. Even when done through the GPU, it effectively kills its fillrate. If you disable the forced VI filtering in retail games, you can actually get a framerate improvement.
@@gameblabla can you try to add atleast five mobs?(1 pig, 2 cow, 2 chicken) we can use ram expanders to get more fps.
@@crocolierrblx9365 There is already TNT in the game. And it already uses the RAM expander, it won't improve the speed of rending it...
@@gameblabla i think its a good idea to mod your n64 by adding a swap file of 6mb to make sure the tnt works like in minecraft by using these following scripts:
Tnt explosion isnt instant but turns white and back 3x and explodes without particels (im bad at english), background music should be nice (minecraft sweden song)
Really love the 90s aesthetic you went for with the pentagons and stuff. Vogtinator's textures work really well for an N64 game as well
How come you are the only person on yt to do this and it only has 8k views? This is awesome!
My stuff gets low views in general
The working water and lava is impressive.
Great job looks like Minecraft
Even though the draw distance is shorter than my peen, this is still incredibly impressive
ur peen is over 20 blocks long😲!!!
Love the Sphax texture pack, reminds me of when I used to watch the Yogscast Tekkit playthrough back in the day
This is very pog!
Very impressive
There's also a version of this for the Sega Dreamcast
Well yes because i did the port to the Dreamcast. (i've also updated that version as well)
@@gameblabla Awesome!
I should add that unlike Portal64, this does not use the Nintendo SDK (for good reasons). So no worries, this won't get taken down.
very cool
Finally
i like your background
I love playing this on my ti nspire cx xd
Hello, I was wondering where I could get a rom so I can test it out on my emulator. Thanks
please devolop this a little further would love to play this for real
You can already play it for "real", this was recorded on real hardware. Someone else is working on revamping the codebase so if he develops it further, i will port it back to the N64 again.
@@gameblabla Playing it now if someone does do that please port it again that would be awesome. would be awesome to see you port more things to the n64
@@gameblabla Can you reply with the files I would love to play this on my N64
@@GamingMaster43210 the link for downloading it is in the description already
@@gameblabla k thx
Minecraft is now on N64.
Now, I'd like to see one in PlayStation.
There's already one for the PS1 called "Fromage", i invite you to take a a look at it. It is also, sadly, much better than nCrafti. :P
@@gameblabla Damn I never seen or even heard of this before.
Thanks for letting me know that my favorite console in the Fifth Generation had a Minecraft Homebrew Game.
Now I wanna see if there's one for the Sega Saturn.
That's my 3rf favorite from the Fifth Generation.
I was considering doing a port of Crafti to it but unfortunately the small RAM size is an issue for the Saturn. Software rendering to VDP2 is also not quite straightforward, it works but you have to order the pixels in a certain way it seems. (at least on higher resolutions)
@@gameblabla If you can manage CrafTi on Saturn, developers really didn't have any excuse back in the day to not make more 3D games on the Saturn. 😂
I'm still waiting for a minecraft demake that has survival mode and actually let's you play it on the rg353v. Minecraft for psx and for psp do have survival mode but both of them can't play on rg353v because the download links only give you the files with no rom, snd games are only recognized if it's ONLY the rom with NO viewable files.
Oh my god 😮
That text is much sharper than most Nintendo 64 text.
Interesting
i thought i saw this exact demake on one of the ti calculators
Because it's a port of Crafti for the TI nspire CX !
Reminds me more of ps1
what the resolution size?
*"480 × 360"* or *"640 × 480"*
256x224 (sorry i didn't notice this)
Even has the Sphax PureBd craft textures
And somehow, i got a lot of complaints over it... :P
@@gameblabla I guess entitled gamers would rather have the original Minecraft textures even if it meant that you get executed by the National Guard for copyright infrigement.
Why donchya want to use the GPU?
Libdragon's microcode doesn't support it (yet) and it's a lot more complex to use. Porting something that entirely relies on the CPU is much easier (but of course, not as performant)
Any audio?
Nope, couldn't get it to work with this game for some reason. I'll look into it later i suppose.
@@gameblabla Please do. If you could make an original soundtrack similar to minecraft's or get someone to do it that would be insane! I have some friends who make music and they have a few "minecrafty" songs and I could point you in their direction if you want? Even just putting the minecraft soundtrack in would be cool (but not as cool as an original soundtrack). Adding sounds would help too. I also reccomend having a menu with creative and survival in the distant future. I'm working on getting better at Nintendo coding so maybe I can help one day!

Plz more Minecraft
wow
I Want This Rom On Emulator N64 Minecraft
Link is in the description. I cannot guarantee it works on emulators however. (Someone reported to me that it does work with Mupen64Plus and the LLE graphics plugin though but i only test my games on Cen64 and the actual game console)
I wonder if Classicube could run on the n64... 🤔
They are working on it. If you have a github account, you can download it here : github.com/ClassiCube/ClassiCube/actions/runs/7986235991
@@gameblabla im using the android port 😎 i just like to draw tiny pixel art with the cubes xd
This is the same as the DreamCast port. Which is the same as the Calculator port.
Because i also did the dreamcast port. (the nspire version tho, was made by the original author of it)
@@gameblablaWhat do you think of TyraCraft and Minecraft PSP Edition?
@@MattIsTheCat They're pretty decent minecraft clones and the lamecraft mods are the only ones with survival mode.
@@MattIsTheCat Minecraft PSP Edition is nuts. I was big on doing my own mods for Lamecraft back in like 2012 and seeing it become what it has after abandoning that for over a decade is really cool.
@@vine00 Would you say it is a practically perfect port of Legacy Console Edition to the PSP?
is this software rendered
Yes
@@gameblabla Why not change it to hardware?
@@DigiSpaceProductions That's a lot more complicated mate. I'm not too familiar with the RCP & RSP and libdragon doesn't support 3D for now anyway. (Not that it would be a massive improvement anyway)
@@gameblabla since libdragon has opengl support now, what about now?
@@DigiSpaceProductions I'm not planning on redoing the whole thing. Keycraft could be adapted (it's SDL 1.2 + OpenGL 1.1) perhaps but even if i do, it would still be the same thing again anyway (except smoother).

Make the rom for android emulator please
That's on them to fix it if they can't support homebrew games, not on me. I've been told it does work on Mupen64Plus with the LLE graphics plugin on Android though.
Om actually download this game file for my 64 emulator in mobile, it's compatible but it's not playable
Needs to be an emulator that doesn't rely on Nintendo SDK, read desc
Nintendo 64 didn't age well,
I love Gamecube and that generation consoles,
I love DS and psp handhelds
You do realize the DS has similar graphics ? My main gripe with N64 is the video output quality.
@gameblabla th-cam.com/video/Vjm4Ct2aZG0/w-d-xo.html
Ds has abit better Graphic though
how walk in this game
I tried to load it on ym emulator but it crashes
It won't work on most emulators, only ares and real hardware
@@gameblabla oh ok
