    James, Love your tutorials. The most significant is the "Easily pause, restart or recover your CNC job". I needed it several times.
    I purchased the PROVerXL 6050 Plus along with the monthly subscription of Carveco Maker. I am to the point where I can navigate pretty well. BUT one major show stopper I simply can not overcome which is Inlays. I watched every tutorial I can find, tried numerous variations such as reclassifying the bit, depths, offsets.... you name it. The problem is the inlays do not fit very well. Typically they engage only about half way at best. It seems like the more complex the inlay the less likely they fit. If I make simple carves like stars they fit fairly well.
    I now suspect the fact that my CNC does not have closed loop motors it might be possible that it skips a step (or steps) without knowing it? My question to you is: Is there a way to verify if any step was skipped?. For example if a project requires 4,551 steps and in the end there is somewhere in the program that shows the exact amount of steps when complete then it might explain the root cause. Had I known about closed loop CNC's I think I would have reached in my pocket a little deeper.

    Good morning 🌅, James , I have just been watching your assembly instructions, if I may ask you a few questions, please, I run a Mac system, I’m not very good at computers, I’ve heard that these machines and things similar run better on a PC, is it better for me to pick up a cheap PC for, ? , i’ve seen you do reviews on other machines., what make model would you recommend, ? . I am a retired specialist joiner cabinet maker, and over the last five or six years, I’ve been getting into more into Woodturning, And I see some of these machines can do cylindrical work, I would like to be able to machine wood metal plastic, et cetera, and this is going to be a big learning curve for me,
    If you can advise, be very much appreciated , And I live in France, though I am English and been living there for the last five years,

    hi, would the 6050 be a better choice for milling aluminium, I asked before about the 3030, the alloy parts are for RC trucks, etc, and don't have to be micron perfect + - .1 or .2 of a millimeter is ok. Would 6050 be a better choice over the 3030 I appreciate the advice and thank you

    Great video, it's definitely a big beast. One trick ifound on my 4030 couplings was to separate the 2 segments & secure to the D shafts, then use the thumb wheel to turn & align the segments & slide into position.
    Shame they put the Steppers on the back again. Don't get know how difficult to access when inside a sound box??

    Wotcha James. Great videos! I’ve watched single everyone several times over the. Past couple of months. Made me mind up now and got a quote from Hong for the 60/50 to beat her with the 20w laser. I will basically be using it to make drawers and door panels plus chess boards. Is this machine with laser appropriate for this work? Your advice would be very much appreciated. Cheers. Brian

    Still using the same 10mm axis screws from the 4030 Prover. Interested to see how the single Y axis holds up with all that weight. Silverback and Foxalien use 14/16mm on their 6060s.

    @13:24 Top-Tip; Don't use a Philips nr.1 screwdriver in a nr.2 bolt!! Use the correct size, that way you won't destroy the bolt head, and have stupid problems even before you turn it on!

    Excellent video James! First assembly video I've seen is for this machine. I am very curious to hear your thoughts on this machine compared to the Proverxl 4030. I found the rubber feet and gaskets for the stepper motors interesting and I wonder if the Proverxl 4030 might benefit from something similar..

    • @everyonelovesLewi

      The so called instructions say it operates smoother without the rubber feet.

  • @ronin2167
    @ronin2167 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Quick question. The directions said the if I installed the rubber feet the router wouldn't be as stable so should I install them or not?

    • @MatthewBaker-y8m
      @MatthewBaker-y8m 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The feet make it easier to move. And you don't want that. That being said, you could router out some feet holes in a sheet of MDF so they drop in

    Thank you for great video. Very helpful. My first CNC machine, will assemble soon. Three questions: Do you recommend unscrewing and applying blue Loctite on screws of the preassembled parts? Should I apply Loctite on the set screws of the couplers (difficult to remove)? And should I pre-lubricate with PTFE, and which parts need it (some will be hard to reach later)? Thanks.

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I could see a lot of preinstalled bolts already have a form of loctite on so hopefully you shouldnt need to take any out. Yes loctite can help on the set screws but only use the blue one, nothing stronger. Yes, you should also lubricate the lead screws on each axis

    I’m a little worried. Installing the coupler on the lead screw and it seems to stick out a bit further than the one in your video. I’ve made sure both bearing are seated as much as possible. Hopefully they didn’t send me a lead screw that was too long?

      @JamesDeanDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bonjour,
      j ai ma genmitsu 4030 depuis 1 an et c est une bonne machine. je l utilise comme fraiseuse alu principalement et avec vectric desktop comme logiciel de creation et ensuite grbl candle. je fraise des épaisseur de 20 mm avec des fraises dlc de 3 mm. pour ce qui est de la 6050 plus elle ne m'interesse pas car en connaisseur je vois beaucoup de points fragiles dans sa construction dont sa vis unique en y. et ses points d 'encrage sur les plaques latérales. la 4030 et mieux concue et tres precise. je travaille tous les jours avec pour développer des pieces aéro dans de la matiere t3 et t5 en alu.

    Hello to you, it’s in French, I apologize! I was very excited about your video, I know the 4030 but the 6050 brings a lot, that’s what I was looking for. I have a question for you: I use the VCarve Desktop software to export files under Fusion 360, is this possible for the 6050?. And is there a European dealer to avoid paying customs taxes? Salut,
      Oui, la machine fonctionnera avec Fusion 360 et VCarve.
      Pour le moment, je ne pense pas qu'il y ait un fournisseur local. Ils viendront probablement de Chine dans un premier temps, puis plus tard dans l'année ou au début de l'année prochaine, ils pourraient avoir des stocks sur Amazon.

    Don't use red loctite... So strong and chemicals don't affect it, if you need to remove bolts to upgrade/replace parts, you'll basically need a small torch. Used the red on my 3D Printer and learned my lesson. Stick with blue. 😉
