Lavender is always that one note that I almost never reach for, but when the craving comes around for it I can’t get enough of it, especially in spring.
Be there or be obtuse! Hahaha! You're sounding like me, totally wore out! I do a lot of varied things and by the time I might get accustomed to it, I'm doing something totally different with it own kind of rigors. With everything else going on, it's been like a three year marathon-lol! Sometimes I don't know how I'm still going. I have the same thing with lavender that I do with some other flowers/herbs. I really love it but there's so much bad, that I rarely buy it. I have no doubt that Pete's doing a top notch Lavender and I'm sure I'll get it as some point here. Take it easy and have a great weekend brother!
Obtuse is perfect! 😃 We're too damn old for change lol I agree there are some bad ones out there, but there is also some really good ones. Have a good one Ian!
Glad you enjoyed it, It instantly became one of my favorite lavender fragrances. And with Pete's base is just a perfect balance of fragrance and luxury😊
Traditionally the women folk like lavander scents more than men..... it's definitely that way in my family. Kind of interesting to hear that it's opposite in your family. Regardless thanks for the detailed break down as always and have a great weekend!
I'm with you on Glycerin based soaps for pre-shave, I get my best shave results when I use them and do not like oils at all, I wasn't aware that Glycerin "plumps" up the hairs but that explains why it works so well for me. I do like a good lavender scent in my shave, even though I don't have that many but the HCC soap is on my wish list. Take care brother👌🤠👌
Good to have you back! Thanks for the education on glycerin. I always wondered why it was in all shave products. Lavender wasn't a scent I reached for until Opulence. Now that's the scent I wear most. I've been giving this a hard think and may just add it to cart. Also, I'm almost through my Cube, and want to go to the tube. Now I'm torn between Clown Fruit and Northern Highland.
Hey Jeff, I love this one enough that I would personally buy your set in the event you don’t like it, regardless of whether you get the soap and splash or if you get the trifecta. Buy without trepidations, for I will be your safety net on this one 😉
Thanks Jeff! Feeling like I'm about ready to start running again. It's fantastic, both of the lavenders in this video are great! Definitely check out Northern Highlands eBay page. He has some cool gear, he sent me a few things including a magnetic brush with a plastic washer set in it. I'll show it in my Pine video. Have a good one!
100% Tobin has to be the most credible fragrance guy in the community. I look forward to every video. Just look at all that lavender, he told me in a message that he has a couple others and he has gotten ready of a couple oy vey😅
Always great to be back.. Your videos make me think.. for instance the preshave talk.. bear with me.. a simple 1$ glycerine soap / a warm shower/ a hot towel will do.. see what I'm getting at.. there's a simplistic approach to wet shaving if you're into the simple living mood.. & btw sorry not big on lavender 😢
I think you'll like it, I have a feeling. Just don't judge it by your first impressions. Give it a few shaves 😅 Seriously tho, I can you see liking it.
I really like that you are a common person - absolutely meant in the best way - when you do review, i.e not a kiss ass to anyone. You go into the details rather than saying just, “I like it.” I also love how you describe the scents, where they come from, and how they are made and last. In all sincerity, you should be a professor in fragrances at a school. Also, the football Santa is awesome. I recently received a Zomchi razor and like it. I need to try more blades in it to reach a sound conclusion.
Thanks Andy😊 in another life I'd love to be that Professor, I'll settle for Fragrance Reviewer tho and hopefully some of what I share sticks 😅 My mom got me that Santa a few years back, she always gets me the coolest gifts! She gets me lol. For the price the Zomchi is super impressed. Did you get the Blue type or the Black 89 type? That game was... Entertaining to say the least 😅 but a W is a W lol and I'll take it Have a great Sunday Andy!!
Hi Tobin, As you know, I am a huge floral fan, including lavender. I have so many lavender scents, I have the French Lavender from Sebum Gold, Lavender Planet, and Ethos, just to mention a few. Yep, running out of room. Trying to come up with some additional storage solutions that Susie will bless, but until then, I’m being very selective. Thanks so much for the shout out. Appreciate you much my friend! Best regards, Glenn
I'm there with you Glenn, my collection is FULL. I have more than I know what to do with lol. I have a few Lavenders as well, I'm sure this one is great but I don't need another Lavender. Hope your sniffer is back to sniffing 😊
You are so welcome! Glad to know it was useful, I never know what may or may not be redundant for the community, so it makes my day when i hear this! Have a good one!
Hi Tobin, James Daigle here. That soap scoop is real Mother of Pearl, (so made from some type of ocean clam-shell), also, as I understand it, Lavender is a really slippery topic. There’s English, Spike Lavender and Lavandin, a hybrid of both. All these other varieties are usually 1 of the 3 just grown in a different country. That has been experience anyway, the same goes for Rosemary, they’re all Rosmarinus Officianlus, just grown in different regions. Now, I will say, lavender and rosemary grown in different countries, do smell different, but it’s the same plant. That’s why I believe they specify the country. Additionally, thank you tons for reviewing my products, I truly appreciate it! Have a great evening, sir!
@@Lahey1579 hey thanks James! ALL Lavenders go by many names. Which is why I had the images on screen showing the different names. The confusion is Mostly due to the result of it being used for over two Millennial, which is why Latin is used to describe them, however if I use Latin in my videos I'll lose the attention of 95% of my viewers or confuse them 🥴😉. But the Latin word applies to the particular species regardless of where it's grown. English lavender for example is grown just up the road from our house at a Lavender farm, they grow over 10 different species and countless varieties depending on the year. I try to keep everything simple in my videos but at the same time deliver information that the "average" guy can use. It's a delicate balance. In my research of Lavender which now spans three videos solely dedicated to Lavender it is a slippery topic, which is why I keep it straightforward. Just like with Roses there are hundreds of varieties most of which have been created by humans crossbreeding varieties, the same as with dogs/canine. We began with Wolves and now today have 1,000's of sub species. Today, with Lavender there is now over 40 Species and over 400 varieties. Of them, 8 are commonly used in perfuming and 3 of which are used most often. Definitely not the same plant as with Roses, Roses can vary greatly as with Apples. Apples are another great example. A Granny Smith is nothing like a Red Delicious, one of my favorite apples is the Honey Crip. Prior to the 1990s it didn't exist they offer a great balance of sweet and acidic flavors. There are more than 7,000 different varieties of apples today. In short with every video, I produce I try to keep in mind the acronym KISS. 😉 BECAUSE, I could go on for hours and people will get lost in the details. In my Pine video, I'll share with guys how a Douglas Fir isn't actually a Fir. But with limited details, the ones that what more knowledge will seek it out. Have a good one!
@ You’re welcome sir! 100% Agreed! I guess my point is just that I believe most of the different names are just companies marketing their specific lavender or rosemary, after looking up tons of companies lavender and rosemary over the years, that’s what I’ve found anyway. Cheers brother, keep up the awesome content! 👍
@Lahey1579 thanks man, I've never looked much into buying them, there are two places I buy from. But English Lavender can be grown anywhere. Just like my German Shepherds 😉 We joke that we have Oregon Shepherds lol If I was buying oils I'd buy based on the Latin name. Pete Hendrix is a great resource, he'd be happy to help if you ever want to reach out to him. Frank Misa too 👍👍

Pine scented, you say? I absolutely love pine, as I do lavender. Unfortunately for me and my nose, lavender often comes across as too medicinal and weed adjacent, to the point of giving me a headache.
