@@BillyMadison-gn1zu During the Video he said he would do another review when the full game is released. Obviously, he has no obligation to do so, but a little poking in the comment section may go a long way.
Got to the end of the Cadavan Manor and forgot the whole “early access” because i was so inthralled by the world and exploring everywhere on the islands. They easily designed around 8 hours of gameplay but milage may vary between builds and players.
I love this trend of retroism in media, especially games. Now, more than possibly ever before, people don't want to be dazzled by something never achieved before; they want nostalgia, familiarity and the comfort of something both recognizable and a bit different.
I dont care for nostalgia at all, i feel as if games with worse of graphics coming from indie studios tend to have super innovative or interesting gameplay/mechanics bad graphics just adds to the charm, the amount of creativty cannot be contain within the medium
People wallowing in nostalgia is not a new thing. Not even slightly. The reason we keep seeing the same franchises and brands over and over again is because people don't want new things. They wNt things they recognise over and over again.
Awesome visual style. I'd be super interested in your full review once it is complete; I'm no the biggest fan of this style of game, but the world has me rather intrigued, and I'd love to play something with this atmosphere if if turns out to be solid.
I've been playing more of it since I made this preview. There's a pretty good amount of content available for the early access asking price. I'll definitely be making a longer review video whenever it gets a full release.
I've been looking for a game that fills the same niche as the Elder Scrolls games (it's been almost 12 years since Skyrim at this point and I've grown a bit desperate lmao).
This has been my most anticipated game since playing Shattered on the 1st Dread X Collection. The setting is wonderfully gothic, and its mechanics have a lot of room for extrapolation within the environments and quest designs. Though I've stayed away from the EA, as I've heard with each update new, game breaking bugs are introduced. Not that surprising, considering how difficult it is to design RPGs, doubly so coming from one dev.
Nice Channel, i really like your calm but very funny Style, while being spot on. The Graphics on this looks like an Mix of Thief, Daggerfall, Vagrant Story, plus little Bits of Drakan, Gothic and Arx Fatalis ❤
Absolutely love your videos, instant sub! I vibe very much with chilling in dungeons. Funnily enough, even though I have a rule to never buy any early access titles (looking at you Baldur's Gate 3...) in last 2 weeks I have bought... Lunacid and Dread Delusion. I got so invested in both I started going through YT wanting to listen to other's thoughts about them because frankly, I can't stop thinking about how good these games are. It was a pleasure hearing your thoughts! But, and I say it only because I am a big fan of the wobble, wobbly 3D is not really because of 32bit systems. It's mostly PS1 games that are being associated with this, and it's because PS1 GPU did not have a Z-Buffer, so it did not calculate the Z axis which is quite crucial in 3D. Said buffer had to be done in soft and PS1 did not work with floats either so the computations were far from perfect thus giving us the iconic wobble. It was probably even more complicated, but this is as far as I went. As much as I am a huge fan of it I think that in Dread Delusion it could be toned down slightly, there is A LOT of wobble. If one checks out, for example, Metal Gear Solid 1 or Vagrant Story, the effect is less prominent there I think. Or maybe it's due to the fact that DD's world feels more dense than most of real PS1 games as it is not dealing with the same hardware limitations. No clue honestly, I am no specialist so don't quote me on that :D Cheers!
Whoa that’s a lot of information. Really interesting though. I never knew that about the Z axis. It makes a lot of sense. The 32 bit era is so fascinating to me because those consoles could just barely manage 3D but they did so much with so little. Anyway, glad you like the videos! And yeah, I can’t wait for DD and Lunacid to get full releases. I’ll be making more in-depth review videos on them whenever they do
@@dungeonchill Hopefully the info dump was not interpreted as me trying to be a smartass, especially that my knowledge is more than lacking, I just get excited easily. Yeah, I can't wait for both games to fully release. Both of them already have a surprising amount of polish. DD shines with the setting, mechanics-wise Lunacid is maybe slightly tighter, but also a different kind of game as well so the comparison might be out of place. On top of that, now I can't wait for more of your videos to be uploaded too, so many cool things to look forward to! :)
Update 0.6.42 was just released today! I can't wait to hop back into the early access version and see what's been fixed since the "Summon Isle" update (0.6.34) was added right around Halloween over a week ago. This game is great and reminds me of playing King's Field 2 back on PS1 back in 1996!
No character customization in a first person game where I can't see myself?! Blasphemous! Nah just kidding, game looks great. Looking forward to playing it and / or adding it to the never ending backlog.
Hail, Dread Brother (haha) Great video and I'm happy to be your second subscriber. The wiggly graphics has been divisive but can be disabled. I don't hate it but I know it bugs some ppls eyes. Funny enough that back ground noise (which I think is from the mushrooms) reminded me of a little sound effect in the main theme for Splinter Cell of all things. Ironic your other video is Lunacid as it's the dev for that game that was brought over with the Emberian Update to tighten up the melee.
Thanks for the support! I really appreciate it! I had no idea the dev from Lunacid was brought on for DD. It did weirdly feel like the two games had some kind of link though, which is why I chose them as my first two vids. I've got more shorter previews like this coming up and some longer vids in the works, so I hope you enjoy!
@@dungeonchill One improvement he did is fix the block/parry feature. Pre-Emberian update it took a second after clicking for the action to take effect. Felt a bit weird.

Morrowing my arse. Bethesda would know how to create an open sandbox fps rpg game even if they were bought out by Black Isle....who kinda know what rpgs are about. This game already has more than most things I have played produced by Bethesda. Old school players might like Morrowind but after a while it turns out it is not better just different from the empty "wander around" games like Oblivion. Morrowind just has a ludicrous amount of stuff thrown together but often without any rhyme or reason. I am so glad this game exists because I have been waiting for Grvn for years.....and what a disappointment that was.
This game needs someone with artist taste to fix the color palette. Looks cool otherwise. Indie games use over saturated magenta and teal too much. It's like a desperate attempt to make their game stand out. But what if they made it stand out by making it look good?
Dropped in a strange world that's some parts familiar but also weird, and hostile. Graphically its objectively ugly, but the visuals enhance the worldbuilding and the atmosphere. Sounds like the plot is a slowburner, too. If the dev wants to run with that, so what?
