OOF, "there can be love present in a relationship that cannot last" got me good. ive had to end relationships w my closest friends and family over the past year, and it hasnt been easy. this was the reminder i needed, thank you!
As an 8th house sun with chiron conjunct both it and mercury I can say that partnership is the one thing I want and the one thing I've been held back from my entire life. Every time I get around others and start to feel better the universe Forces me to leave and sit alone. I've had three very short relationships and I'm 39 years old. No marriage no children. I don't speak to my family and have no friends. Everyone I meet my intuition tells me to stay away from. Even though I want friendship and love, I'm literally not allowed. I was alone as a kid and now my subconscious thinks I need to be alone. I meditate for hours a day and don't know what else to do.
As someone with Saturn in the 8th house, I needed this video!
Thank you so much! I think this is the most beautiful, profound and accurate description I have listened to from the 8th house. So good the non judgemental vision of the co-dependency. You don't want to stay there but it's part of a journey of mutual help where the bond and intimacy are profound. I am Sun, north node and Moon in the 8th, Pluto in the 4th. In my fifties, I think I can say I love my 8th house. Such an intense life... 🙏💫

Do you see a society where these experiences aren't uncomfortable or taboo, but just deep and transformational?
I believe the discomfort and taboo is necessary for the 8th house to be the energy that it is. The acceptable form of death is 12th house, the acceptable form of power is 10th house and the acceptable form of sex is 7th house.
The fact that 8th house energy is jarring and uncomfortable is what makes it transformational in the way that it gives rise to the expansion of the 9th house.

I would say it's not the discomfort but the judgments and fear that create issues with how the 8th house gets positioned. For sure- discomfort is part of growth & transmutation. But there is a lot of societal shame that gets cast onto 8th house experiences and that's what, for me, is part of something created by power-over/marginalizing social orders and is not intrinsically part of an 8th house archetype/energy. But....there's so many layers to talk about with the 8th house! I'll do a workshop on it at some point. Blessings to you.

... And 17:01 !!! Now I understand fully _why_ the breakdown of cognitive supremacy in my life, starting in 2022 or a bit before (Saturn in 9th hse + Pluto ongoing in the 8th)! ... I literally lost access to the most cherished books and notes I had and which I was depending on, and symbolically and significantly my laptop screen blacked out during eclipse season (- an incident preceded by an explanatory dream in preparation) - the strongest message ever!

this is so timely for me... after getting my quantum human reading + astro transit reading, i found that i have a lot of water (pisces, cancer) and my venus in aries in the 8th house in my unconscious chart. my conscious natal chart is a cancer rising, virgo rising in my unconscious chart... love your take on the 8th house. thank you Iris 🙏

Hi! Thank you for this video! In my 8th house I have Jupiter 15 degrees Libra, Venus 23 degrees Libra, and Sun 14 degrees Scorpio. My 9th house starts at 19 degrees Scorpio with Mercury 3 degrees Sag with Moon 4 degrees Sag. Pisces rising at 7 degrees. I must say life has not been easy. I have become a different person in my forties than in my younger years. Today at 78 years I have transformed even more and astonished at some of my actions when I was a young woman. Not any property/money of the dead came my way, but property/money from the dead was promised in my natal chart. Too bad for me. My natal chart for cast an easy peaceful demise. This I am hoping comes true. Thanks again and I will look forward to next time. Bless your heart and soul!

Have to listen to this again! before part 2. I am appreciating the depth of content of all your teachings. Today I listened to the ones on Saturn, plus 4,8 & 12 houses. Maybe because I know that there is so much truth in what you share, I need to hear it. Really listen. My life this time has been about healing the intimate wounds as a spiritual path. Its so wrapped up with the Patriarch stream however, and today the penny dropped ( ah ha moment), ...I can embody the Self through Saturn as an integral part of this life. Explanation: My Scorpio Sun is conjunct Neptune in 4th trines Saturn conjunct Chiron in Pisces in 8th...which in turn sits opposite to Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo. 2nd. OMG just realising how the trine rectangle in my chart can help with all these oppositions.🤭!! THANK YOU

@madronaspulse Iris, PLEASE can you speak a bit to what healthy, balanced merging looks like? Without being of detriment to either side? Can that even happen or should I do everything (that is humanly possible!) to resist it? ... I do try my utmost to remain mindful. Ultimately I need my boundaries and the other person needs theirs.
I think that really depends on the energies in each person's 8th house, planets, etc. For me, if we have strong 8th house/pluto energies- 'healthy' merging looks different for each of us as we have different needs, desires, soul drives, etc. But definitely looking at 8th house energies in your chart and focusing on the archetypes is going to speak to this.

@@_N_F_ and just say...for instance, if someone had Capricorn in their 8th house...then we have a bit of a paradox because Capricorn is all about boundaries, so this journey is about finding ground and having boundaries when merging, as if one could always be in touch with the rhythm of their heart beat in their body and not completely lose the self, because that is part of the Capricorn journey, here experienced in the 8th. There is still transformation and parts of the self are shed, but Capricorn is ultimately getting deeper & deeper into its own earth wisdom, here facilitated through merging, but never abandoning boundaries altogether. They might even be a leader of sorts in their merging partnerships, because that is part of the energy...

Thank you. 8th house sun in Sagg. Father of my children is Scorpio sun. My daughter's 8 th house includes Scorpio and Sagg and my son's moon is in Gemini in 8th house. So fascinating.
Thank u, I see more creat now the8th house. My Sun, Mercury and Venus are intercepted in Gemini in 8th house. I felt a very deep connection with someone over ten years ago. That connection changed me. I can't forget him and I haven't been able to have any relationship since then because I haven't found with anyone that depth of soul that effectively made us one... I will always love him...! He is also a Gemini and has the Sun conjunct my Sun, Venus and Mercury in the 8th house in synastry. What this means? In addition, I accumulated traumas having Saturn and Lilith conjunct in the 4th house in Aquarius. Pluto is in the 1st house in Scorpio. My parents died 3 years ago when I was 29 (Saturn return)…

Thank You so much Iris💖🪷✨️ Im deepening my understanding about this house because of profection year. Its empty aries house in my chart, opposed by Pluto and Mars in scorpio. Earlier there was very long grand fire trine with natal North Node in leo, Neptune conjunct Ic in sag and transit Chiron in aries. I felt that to be energeticly very healing period, but it was before this profection year. I just feel need for solitude and in general am not fan of company. Or, Im rather(= very) picky with 1st house virgo Sun, Mercury, Jupiter & Saturn. Considering the over all variables, including transiting North Node in aries and Saturn in the 7th, its no wonder Im merging myself with nature. I do begin to belive I do some energy cleaning. That sense has been growing slowly but surely.
Soler return chart Moon is on 0 aries and Asc conjunt Neptune&Ic placing virgo in 10th with rx Mercury( only Mars & Jupiter are direct) yet natal is direct. Just going to take it slowly this year...

I've got one question, do you think someone with an 8th house destiny (let's say..) will more than likely always be 'merged' with another... or do you think someone could become merged with themselves through individuation or with the public... so that it, in the end, it becomes like the same dynamic.. except you are merged with yourself and/or a large group of people (let's say if you are a public performer, for example... which is what I am)... I am just curious about whether it might signify a long term merging with someone romantically.. or a kind of dependency.. or could it also mean 'depending' on an audience of supporters.. or depending on 'yourself'.. merging so much with your depths that you may not need anyone.. it's just something I'm trying to understand more.. what it could all signify.. thanks!

here I used them interchangeably- I think for me, transumation speaks a little more to the breakdown of a perceived self awareness that can happen in the 8th house, as a new state emerges and can signal that depths we go to; but that is a transformation... what ever word resonates best.

I'm not attempting to test anyone's knowledge of this platform in any manner. I am merely looking for an astro-enthusiast's "clear & precise" point of view.
What do the terms "transformation & death" represent in the context of the awful 8th house of astrology? Is it safe to assume that the placements of four main planets (sun + moon (combust) + mercury (ascendent lord) + venus) in the same house are bad for an aries & virgo ascendant male?
