Good luck to all in the contest. Thanks to Ozz for putting it on, the amazing footage and giving us a chance to win this BA bag for the BA Air 3. Hope I win and Happy Flying!!
And food for thought, this is still with half the transmission power going towards you, away from the drone. Imagine with yagi una antenna clipons, you'd get sustained 5 bars even further out. (They shape the signal to redirect the "rear-facing" fields to instead project forward)
At this distance you already almost run out of battery so any further doesn’t help. Also gotta keep it closer than this as this it’s just a test. 😊 for signal strength.
No doubt, the signal strength on the Air 3 is the best. And it open up more possibilities to get certain shots I couldn’t get before. Plus the much improved battery life over the Air 2S makes this drone a nice upgrade in many ways. Awesome footage you captured while flying over the lake. I’m probably one of the flew people who you enjoy your summer scenery, more than your winter scenery. Great testing, and thanks for sharing Sean.
Wow Sean! First, the area is crazy beautiful! Nothing on the East Coast or eastern shore compares to it! Damn! Second, that Air 3 has a tremendous camera! Even without filters, it is insane! Third, the battery life and the power are tops! Can't say anything bad about that drone! I still have my Air 2 and the Mini 3 Pro but now you have me thinking! LOL! Where is that area again? I may need to add it to my bucket list! Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding video! I just went from an old Phantom 4 to the air 3. The 4 still has excellent photos but this new air 3 blows me away! The video of the P4 was 4k at 30 frames ps. The Air 3 jerks slightly at 4k, 60 fps. using mp4 format...hope I got the format right.....so I'm going to try 30 fps. Anybody have a problem with that! ? I show the video on a Hp PC using Windows 10.
I'd be totally be into a spin down. My wife's been dying to go to Colorado. Now i have a good reason. #OneLastChance #ItWorked #ColoradoSprings #GoodLuckInTheContest
I believed someone in US did try in the dry salt lake / land , they tried it one way with a vehicle running next to it , someone pick up the drone once it landed, it went over 9 miles with signal !!!
@@SeanOzz I am just wondering anyone in the near future would hack and put a lipo / lithium ion on top of the Air 3 make it 1 hrs flight time or so ! ( people tried a cup of water on top already )
I'm totally into going to spin down. My wife's been wanting to go to Colorado. Now I have a good excuse. Insane views: I'd live to fly my drone there. #OneLastChance #ColoradoSprings #GoodLuckInThContest #itworked
I seen a previous video where you go over 400’ and here you send it well out of VLOS. I worry about the FAA coming after you or even me if I did these kind of tests. I love the footage, don’t get me wrong at all. Isn’t their the concern of you losing your 107 doing this?
There are many places you can legally go over 400’. Depends on what your flying next to. Like following up a building or mountain you can go 400 over the high point. I personally don’t like high flights unless there is a close subject like a mountain. You can’t tell the drone is moving when just high and not near anything in my opinion. Spotters help me on some of these videos. Thanks for the comment.
@@SeanOzzNice. I just don’t want to see you guys get into problems. Freaking VLOS is not far at all. My eagle 🦅 eyes 👀 aren’t what they use to be. Love the video Sean and you do a great job on your videos! 😊
## I’m still out of the competition # good luck US viewers. Great video, back to that fantastic location. I thought the battery would go flat before signal going very low. Are you going back to that waterfall location soon for go pro video ? ( the place you can’t use the drone), that place looks nice, better in sunshine perhaps. 👍🇬🇧
Hi Sean. I answered this question yesterday, that’s the second reply that I have done to your videos that has disappeared within 2 days, no bad language in it either. But yes, it was Colorado springs.👍
That’s weird. You’re not the first to have TH-cam so weird stuff with comments. I appreciate the heads up. I will make sure next time I go to the springs to go back if it’s sunny and explore.
Curious if the base rc gets the same distance. Needed to watch again to catch the hashtags. The views got me #onelastchance #itworked I need one of those mics been years last I was at #coloradosprings hope everyone has #goodluckinthecontest
I do not see the point of videos that do drone range tests. The reason is that not everyone are in the same environment. Some drone operators may be in environments where there is little to no interference while others will have lots of it. I think elevation is a factor as well. A drone operator who is above obstacles such as hills, mountains, tall buildings, etc will probably get a stronger controller-to-drone signal and better range results than a person at a lower elevations such as being a valley where controller-to-drone signal will not be as strong. Am I not understanding or missing something?
Thanks for the comment. everyone does them for different reasons and in different environments. which is a good thing as viewers can get an idea of signal strength in those different environments. Elevation in the mountains actually hurts flight time as well as these mountains are full of metal in the rocks which can cause huge issues with signal strength. even more than a city landscape can at times believe it or not. (was a shocker for me to discover that). so the point some of us do it for is, if you can get a good signal at a distance than in theory your signal will be much much stronger when flying close by, near trees, buildings, and so forth. in my case there is a second benefit. That is the views are just gorgeous and worth sharing ! :)

Great job. I just ordered an Air 3 (hasn’t arrived yet) and I’m thrilled.
It’s a really good drone. Enjoy
Exciting Range test with the view as a bonus!! Looking forward to seeing many more of your drone videos! That battery life surprised me too!!
Thanks.
Great video as usual my brother! Definitely want to come your way with my drones so I can soak up some of that beautiful scenery.
Thank you
Did 7km with air2s FCC hack here in the EU. :) 56% battery when i turned back. still air3 is way impressive with that new ocusync 4.0.

@@SeanOzz Yeah... technically supposed to maintain VLOS, and the Air 3 can be seen at a mile away. At best.
Great Vid Beautiful scenery, how did it go in Sport mode I couldn't find your test on that.
It gets a tiny less distance due to battery usage if I recall

Great scenic video! But, I thought Colorado was not a drone friendly State.

I’ve not had that issue. Might be worth contacting dji.
Great Video! I'd like to get a clip-on mike like you have and how did you record the narration into the RC 2?
I’m working on a video about that. I the audio you hear is from the GoPro 11.

How do you know where you can fly or not
The fly app as well as other apps as well as studying on the internet.
You forgot! Didn't you, you have cruise control on the Air 3, saves you pushing that stick all the time.
I typically like to fly manual so I can change up my speeds.
Spin down would be great.
I’d have to come up with a different name Like Rocky Mountain something. Lol
Omg! So beautiful!🖤😍

Not sure. Good question.
If you point the antenna's down (doesn't make any sense) you will get better range.
I got insane range that I’ll never use again but thanks for the tip.

Right. I rarely use two fully. Never three. Just no time to fly for all three normally.

everything grat man but u even havent straighen out the antenas on ur drone, unbelivable how good that drone is.
Tel he drone does not have external antenna’s. Just the RC.
