He's representing German soldiers, that did gloryful things, despite still waging war for their fatherland in an act of revenge. Back then, the "good guys" demonized us since the war ended, but today you can watch more and more stories of German soldiers, that not only racked up many kills, but also showed respect to their enemies, because that is, what we were really like. Stroheim is one of the realest takes on Nazi German soldiers there is.

As a German myself through and through, von Stroheim is my favourite character.
He's representing German soldiers, that did gloryful things, despite still waging war for their fatherland in an act of revenge.
Back then, the "good guys" demonized us since the war ended, but today you can watch more and more stories of German soldiers, that not only racked up many kills,
but also showed respect to their enemies, because that is, what we were really like. Stroheim is one of the realest takes on Nazi German soldiers there is.
Can you imagine what it’d be like if Kars really just died here and the final boss of Battle Tendency ended up just being cyborg nazis or some shit?
