I ended up going with this exhaust but I went an paid a little extra for the stainless steel version and painted it black myself, I absolutely love it! Nice deep rumble, little to no drone, and the wife even approves 😅

Yess!!!! Love the MBRP exhaust systems! Great pick man! I’m the same way about the sound. I’m not one to drive 10 mph and sound like I’m 80. I would go buy a can or two of VHT high temp paint and coat the exhaust pipes to help you in the long run of the exhaust not rusting🤘 great video man!

@@tulerblank5137 the installer series uses aluminized mild steel pipes, not stainless. High temp paint will help with this particular system, but since engines produce water as a natural byproduct of combustion it will rot from the inside long before the outside goes bad.
Stainless may not rust but it deteriorates and leaves pin holes in the exhaust I live in maine salt city. Stainless does not last like everyone thinks…

Sounds good can’t go wrong with MBRP. I have duals with a flowmaster super 10 and 4 inch tips and it also has that lope sound it must be something with these 5.3’s but sounds nasty. I sprayed that VHT high temperature flame proof black coating on my pipes and muffle to help protect it from all salt corrosion and so far it seems to be doing pretty good I’ve had the exhaust for a year and no signs of rust on the pipes. Mines stainless and I still did it, but it might help you with that aluminized pipe!

Have the same exhaust, only dual rear side exit (factory location on passenger and driver side). I’ve found my favorite sound is the rev down like approaching a stop sign, when it’s right around 2100 rpms. In V4 mode it feels almost louder to me, but it’s less of a smooth sound and a little more of a choppy type of sound. I was thinking the same thing. Can’t go wrong with a $400 exhaust (without coupons). If it rusts out in a few years it payed for itself in smiles from me😂 Hope ya enjoy it!! Give us an update sometime down the line on if your fuel mileage changes and how it sounds in v4 mode for ya

Wow the only thing you can talk about less than is the aluminum rather than stainless. I did the exact same MBRP on my Hemi when I used to own it. I OBSESSED with every tone possible and do not like flow master or magnaflow at all. It was either MBRP or Spintech. I have a video of sound on my channel. Anyway...just because not buying Borla doesn’t mean cheap

I went with a corsa system on my 2018, and very happy with it. But nice exhaust for the price, and sounds good. keep it up man!!
So as we both have our winters.. and salt, brine. This is gonna be destroying that new exhaust in no time. Look at that factory being a year and some. It is well worth it to get a high quality stainless. For us in the northern climate it will pay off in the end. I cant wait to check back in summer to see what it looks like. Again great job

What i do is rub metal polish with #0000 steel wool. Keeps it nice nice looking 👍.

Sounds good and a great price. I was looking into that exhaust system for my new truck because of the price. However being not being stainless steel, I'm curious about how long it will last. I installed a Gibson on my 09 Silverado. It's a 409 stainless steel and looks very rusty after 10 years in PA. The borla exhausts are 304 stainless and isn't supposed to rust, that's why they're more expensive. I'm going to install a borla duel side exit on my 2019 Silverado LD and we'll see how it actually holds up.
sounds good .... i got the gibson sport, same side duals. i installed the AFM disabler by Range...the v4 mode is worthless in mountains, simply unplug for a roadtrip.

Looking for a kit for my 16 Suburban. I had written MBRP off because the sound profile just wasn't as refined as say Corsa or Borla but after watching this video you may have changed my mind. How is it holding up?
I’ll be honest I sold the truck probably 6 months after making these video.. I currently run a MNRP 5” on my 2021 Cummins and it’s good. They definitely show rust though as they’re not the same stainless quality you’ll get from Corsa or Borla.

I feel like if I am doing all the same mods you do to your truck on my truck. This is for sure on my checklist ASAP after owning my truck for almost two years. I guess there is no check engine light at all correct? I live in California and well you know the law here is super delicate when it comes to smog check. It will be nice as well if you do a quick video on the noise difference when truck switch to from V8 to V4.
Francisco Garcia yeah man, I’ve driven it for about a week now, 400ish miles and no check engine lights thus far. And yes absolutely, I’ll be doing a review after owning it for a while and definitely go over the sounds it makes when switching to V4!

Did you notice and power gains or decreases after putting this exhaust on? Did it tow the same or worse or better?
Nick Richard haven’t really noticed much of a difference at all really other than the sound.. slight decrease in fuel mileage but nothing crazy, like 1mpg.

Honestly no, nothing noticeable, which is why I went with this kit… know people who bought some more expensive Borla kits and stuff that are way louder that caused a lot of drone. I was very happy with my kit.

It’s on 20x12s and 33x12.50s. It most definitely rubs at full lock. Have a good 3-4 videos on this channel explaining and showing how bad!

had a cat back gibson on almost 2yrs....no lights, no issues here. also have the AFM disabler to delete v4 mode....no prob there either.

No sir. More airflow = less fuel efficient unfortunately. Better performance none the less.

Did you get any dash lights? Isn’t there a sensor on the muffler? I was thinking doing it to mine but someone told me i’ll a check engine light??
xFrostSouLx no sir... the only o2 sensors there are are on the catalytic converters, nothing on the resonator or muffler. So no lights, totally fine 🤟🏼
