The entertainment value of being Paul’s neighbor has to be a 10 outta 10. You never know what coming out of the driveway. Maybe a duramax, maybe a high speed lawn mower, maybe a dirt bike, maybe a bread truck, maybe a tow truck, or maybe an airplane tug. When you live next to fabrats the possibilities are endless. 😂

A salute to Hunter for having a handle on reality: "I'm 19, what could go wrong?" That's a great attitude. To all you guys, after seeing the variety of rolling stock you maneuver up and down that highway, I'm not sure if there aren't any cops in your area, of if they have given up and just sit there and shake their heads as you all go whizzing by.
Probably just shake their heads and have a good laugh and ask what is next 😂😂
Wasn't a lot of whizzing happening this time, more like a medium crawl. Cops could have caught them on foot if they tried hard.

19. Geez. Can barely remember when I was 19 except that was my age when I got married.... 53 years ago this month....and counting....and with the same woman to boot.

One of my favorite episodes. Loose tranny sliding around in back, three dubious people driving down the highway at 20mph. Looks like a blast. I am curious as to how fast it went when overdrive kicked in! Great job, guys.

Chad working with that onX rig is ideal for everybody involved, Fab Rats has a great fabrication partner, Chad has a great fabrication partner, onX is going to get an amazing rig in their competition, and we the get to watch all of it unfold.
People who live on that road must say, "I wonder what we are gonna see Paul driving down the road today without license plates, windshields, and brakes..."
I don't even know what to say about that ride on the tug ????? But I feel better about myself knowing that there are people just like me out there. Keep doin it! We love it!
Wow Fab Rats is on the move again recruiting Chad's Fabs to help with this big project. So now Paul and crew have an aircraft tug to play with and take the engine out for the Willy's wagon. This will be fun!

I drove a step van like that for 35 yrs after you get use to it they drive great.

One of my friends in elementary school had an airport mule (like the tug, but lot less power I think) on their property. Completely inappropriate for mud, dirt tracks, or children... so lots of fun!
I have to say it’s the first diesel Ferrari tug I’ve ever seen. This is going to be an epic build can’t wait to see it in action. Thanks for sharing

During one trip with the USAF, we dropped in on a fighter base. We had to relocate the C-141A cargo plane weighing about 200,000 pounds. The biggest tug they had was a warehouse tug. 225 CI torqueflight tranny and dual wheels. We didn’t go very fast, but it got the job done.
Chad is one of my most favourite humans. Such a nice genuine chap 👌

First old tug got to play with was in Anchorage AK. The Kenworth dealer used it to push pull dead trucks in and out of shop. It had cab but no heat
I can't wait for this build... I've been hoping you would do something with that kickass Willys since you first started filming over there in the yard. And an overland build will suit that thing great.

The tugs we use in the Marine Corps weigh 12,500lbs. Always wanted to see one on mud tires be used as a "king of hill" type demo derby

Travis AFB had big tug's that ran 12valve and 727 . They broke them repeatedly by rolling backward and hitting drive to pop wheelies. I did three before their CO came to the shop to ask why it kept happening. Turns out it was this one guy. CO made him buy the case he broke and it never happened again. Thanks guys, it's always fun here !

I used to work at Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant in Cleveland, NC.
We had several tugs that we used to pull trucks (in various stages of build) around. We were able to get them to spin donuts but mainly on the plant floor.

In the late seventies early eighties I had two of those chevettes with the diesel engines in them they were Isuzu, that engine was pretty much bulletproof

19-year old Hunter: Manhandles branded Fab Rats rig successfully through Salt Lake traffic and another several hours home. Jumps into newly acquired tug rig for death-defying, screamin' 21mph (downhill) test ride on highway shoulder (Paul at the wheel, "We almost died."). No seats. No seat belts. No roll bars. No helmets. Exits highway hot, heads down the drive back into Fab Rats garage!
Also 19-year old Hunter: "I would like a vanilla cup, little."

Should make that tug a mini rock crawler. 4 link suspension and everything. Not sure how you'd fit a transfer case in it, let alone a narrow solid front axle, but throw a cage over the drivers seat and have fun!
Love love love those Willys wagons. We had a 59 in 1968, loved when dad took us on the beach in it. In 1993 a high school friend put the bofy on a custom frame and stuffed a 351 5 speed manual from a 79 Bronco. Bronco interior and drive train. He called it his Big Wheel.
