Allison Fuchs actually it was healing bc it was a fresh cut and it was itching a lot. so I was getting in the bath and my mom was helping (since I had surgery) and she noticed it and asked me about it!
My mom was supposed to have been given a sedative before her surgery. The nurse who was supposed to give it did not administer enough. As soon as the doctor made his first incision she woke up screaming. This made the doctor start screaming at the nurse to give my mom more sleep meds. My mom remembered everything.
My friends' mother used to be a nurse at the ER. A largely obese woman was taken in, they went to put her on the hospital bed( using about 4 nurses) and cockroaches crawled out of her and her clothing. Their mother also said that someone's skin grew around the toilet seat once, when she was on the toilet for 3 months. Her mentally disabled(actually mentally disabled) brought her food and water, but never called 911. Surgery was later performed to remove the toilet seat.
Sorry if this is really random, but I am SO excited!!! I am going to go over to a friends house and spend the night. I don’t usually see this friend except 2 times a year. It’s so awesome!
I live in a town with a medical school. That university has an associated hospital where students intern. It is also the ONLY trauma unit in the area. I've heard stories that would make your hair stand on end.
I had surgery on my neck (Carotid artery stenosis ) and had to have the plaque remove from the carotid. I was not told when get ready for the surgery that I would be awake during. Imagine the horror finding out then that you would be awake. All went well and I came thru it fine, except for the scar on my neck.
For #5 they literally could’ve slowly removed the pieces of the couch off of him over the span of a few months. That way about times some parts of his body heals they can remove another small portions of the couch/his flesh
My half sister had gallstones and was left with them until she got so sick that she was rushed to hospital for emergency care. The surgeon in charge of her case was so stupid and still refused to give her the surgery to remove the stones, saying to wait another week. When another surgeon decided he'd do it instead he discovered a chronic infection and told us that if she had waited another day she would have almost certainly died

Is my broken leg recovering? I said yes it's feeling better and its not num anymore That's good I said it only hurts a tiny tiny bit I didn't wake up on surgery but my scary thing in surgery when it was done.. THEY MADE ME DO MATHSSS
I went to college for Surgical Tech and found out all kinds of wonderful things, like how any surgery that happens around the intestines, usually flames up and burns for a moment, kind of like the sun tan story only this still happens.
Recently my fiance went to have his apendix removed. The surgery was meant to be just about an hour. It took over three because they could not locate it. Turns out it had moved up to his liver with the intestine still attached. They have no idea how it managed to move but after a lot of recovery time he's better now
In 2009 I needed to have my appendix removed. I had gone to get an MRI in a city in a neighboring county. Afterwards my mom who was driving and I stopped for lunch. When we got home the phone rang. It was the doctor who had done the MRI. She had been franticly trying to call us saying that I needed to get the hospital immediately because I had Appendicitis. when I got to the hospital I had to wait for what seemed like an hour because I had eaten. While I waiting to be taken into surgery my appendix ruptured! But thanks to a high concentration of fat and muscle tissue in my body I didn't die and the doctors were able to still successfully operate.
Me: **has had surgery one month ago and might need one next year** Also me: **watches this video** I love having no self control. But yes, I did skip number two.
I once woke up after surgery and the ‘doctors’ pretended they didn’t see me wake up. They said: I guess we have to amputate his leg otherwise he will die but we don’t have any narcotics, that could make the bacteria stronger. I fell asleep of shock. It were my siblings but try to recognize that when you woke up from a surgery and have sleep for 1 and a half day.
Back in 2002, I had a partial left nephrectomy. I had a mass in my left kidney, that was feared to be cancerous. After removing 1/3rd of my kidney, it was determined to be a cystic mass of a bunch of small cysts. I have a 13 inch scar that gives me pain every day.
Please, please do a video on Missouri scary places/legends. I'm gonna keep asking. Since I am asking...again...here's another potential entry for that vid you'll eventually do, right? ☺...No. 7: Glore Psychiatric Museum, in St. Joseph, MO. Although not haunted, that I'm aware of, it definitely fits the bill for being spooky, creepy, and scary while also being enlightening and educational. Started within a psych ward in 1967 then moved to a separate building the following year, the Glore Museum has been called one of the 50 most unusual museums in the US. Its displays include art and obsession-based collections from patients. Most notable, however, are the full-sized replicas of several antiquated and archaic forms of mental health treatment, now considered brutal and torturous devices. It chronicles mental health treatments across the centuries, showing how far we've come in that area, although we still continue to pursue better and more effective treatments for mental illness.
The worst I had was having to get my gallbladder removed because it was full of stones, and when I woke up after the surgery, I felt like I had been inflated like a balloon. It felt like the flesh had been lifted from my rib cage, and my lungs haven't been the same since.
Cool fox t shirt, I keep running into foxes, at my work, I work nights and on my way home just outside my flat building, I just saw it out of the corner of my eye and walked quickly to my front door and the fox followed me, I feel like I'm being haunted by foxes!
My man and damn this topic freaking terrifies me I'm always scared of one of those people that wake up during surgery but can't do anything about it and the doctors don't realize it straight terrifyingor being abducted by a crazy scientist that likes to perform surgeries on people also another terrifying thought
My grandpa had leg surgery a few years back and he was awake the whole time. He didn't feel a thing but he had a full on conversation with the nurses about what they got their children for Christmas that year. The doctor asked if they gave my grandpa anything and they said yes but he never fell asleep. He remembers everything to this day.
I once had a classmate in the 5th grade who had to get an appendix surgery. He ended up having to get 2 surgeries because in the first one the doctors accidentally cut 2 holes in his bladder.
Odd place to ask this, but I would recommend a few things. There are certain conditions you can keep. Waiting until your hair is dry after a shower to brush is something I have heard helps growth, plus lower your stress. Stress severely impacts many aspects of your body, including hair growth. You can probably look up other things to fast track your hair growth. Just be thankful my mom didnt do it. There is absolutely no remedy for my mother's haircuts. Best of luck!
#2 reminds me of what happened to my mother. She ended up with one of those awful cysts. She is diabetic, so it got extremely infected before it was cared for. The doctor thankfully gave her a local before surgery. Even with this, she said that was the worst pain she had ever experienced and would rather die than go through it again. I can't imagine the pain that guy went through without one. My mother was also a bleeder, and told me the room she was in looked like a crime scene in the end. I'm glad to say my mom is healthy now and also has her diabetes more under control. She is the best and I never want her to go through something so awful again.
Wait...If my dad had surgery.. Did something happen to him?!??!?!?!?!? My dad: *Drives back to poland* Me:OMG DAD ARE YOU OKEY?!?!? My dad:haha Yes Me: O.o
A nurse i worked with told me once a patient who was a heroin addict came in to the ER stating she had an abcess on her arm where she had been shooting. When they took off the gauze the pt had place there not only had it clear been abcessed for days but she had pull the vein up and out of the abcess and it was sitting above tissue....cause "seemed easier to reach that way." The nurse said it was the only time she's said to addict--and just out of shock--"you know you have other veins in ur body right?"
I realized two stories in that I couldn’t handle this one. xD Have fun, the rest of you. May Danny’s masterful narration skills carry you through the horror.
