Maybe I'm dense, but I don't understand the point of the movement rules explained at 1:10 and why cards next to each other mentioned at 4:45 is relevant. Any why would you want the 12 card on top with five points at the end as opposed to a card with zero points?
You can only move a card/stack onto an adjacent one. If you end up with a single stack, your points are negative which means it reduces the positive points from your other rounds - which you want because lowest total score wins.

He didn’t come out and say it, but I think what’s happening is you can move a card to any empty space but you can only cover an adjacent card
