Would be great if the family would clean up and have it look close to original. Nice for a museum type thing for history.

Yea, the family should remove all those vines and try and restore/perserve these old buildings, but they are letting nature reclaim it. Of course, now, it would take a lot of work to do that, as they've let it get away from them.

Quite enjoyable just like all your videos.
I'd much rather visit an old building than Disney any day.

I do as well and we moved up 7 years ago from Florida, so we are enriching ourselves with more history than we had learned as my children were raisin up.
Gives us places to also visit for even more education. Blessings 🕉

My job in my Dads tobacco field in Va., was suckering. That’s pulling the big, fat worms off the lower leaves (leafs). I’m 82 and adored helping my Dad.

Cool tour. the blacksmith post vise and the anvil ( on the ground ) have some serious monetary value, I believe I saw a second anvil as well. Looking forward to seeing the house , my cousin bought the last of our family farms in upstate new york and it came with a 2 story sears home built in 1920.

619DioFan I bought a small wood with probably asbestos siding, home in West Tulsa Oklahoma in 1983 and moved to. Believe it was around 800 to 900sq ft. It was 2bdrm,1ba, small kitchen, living room with dining table on one side, small utility room. Had attached garage. On the wall of garage was the original building permit, think 1952 or 1954. The house was the first "kit" I think it said, maybe for that area. It was a kit from Sears,Roebuck!! $4000!!!

I’m thankful to be old enough to have seen and experienced some of this era, unfortunately to young to have known the importance of it all when I was young.

My Grandpa was born around 1893 and my Grandma was born in 1896. They also had a home built from a Sears catalog kit back around 1920. Not sure the exact year, but my Mom was born in 1925 and had 1 older sister. The license plate thing was something my Grandpa did as well. Their garage wall was covered with their old license plates. I was #11 our of 17 grandkids, but we all loved to explore through their garage and shed. They still had an old horse buggy in the garage. An old baby buggy from when my Mom and her sisters were little. My Grandpa was a professional rose grower and had many greenhouses. His basement workbench in the basement also had a carousel using baby food jars to hold screws and nails. This was in the Chicago suburbs. Funny how similar things were for that era regardless of where they were.

When she mentioned her pap helped build the houses in Norris, my grandfather was in charge of construction of the houses. He also helped build the dam. His construction company was busy in those years. He also did alot in building roads and structures in the Smoky Mtns.

My heart took a bounce when I saw the Simpson 260 in the trash. I have used that meter 60 years as a ham radio operator. We used those in the calibration lab at work. They go for around $100 on Ebay. It's a great piece of gear
