Nick Maxwell Flies The Raptor G4 Heli For Us On The 2012 RC Road Trip

- One of the highlights of the 2012 RC Road Trip was getting to meet world class RC helicopter pilot Nick Maxwell.
We were fortunate enough to be able to meet Nick at a local RC club while he was working on two new helicopter videos for Hobbico and Team Thunder Tiger America. After his first two demos were complete he was nice enough to show us his great 3D skills with his 90-Class Raptor G4 helicopter.
If you watch the video closely you will see that I back up two or three times while Nick does some really amazing 3D maneuvers. I lost him a few times during the flight, but think I caught most of it.
Thanks go out to the Hobbico crew and Team Thunder Tiger America for taking Chris and I out to see Nick fly and also much thanks to Nick for being such a great guy and demoing the Raptor G4 for us.
Nick is widely considered to be among the world's very best heli pilots. He has a long list of noteworthy accomplishments to back up that claim, including:

Someone strap a Gopro to this. The footage would be insane.
the gopro would come off and could damage the heli also would make the bird to heavy
Ozzie Peck This is a silly answer. The big CP helis can lift a lot of weight. If you search, you can find a video of two 700-class helis lifting a woman off the ground. The real reason a GoPro is pointless is it would just a lot of whirling sky and ground.

it wouldn't? be one big blur it depends where you mount it. but the vibration from a nitro/gas motor will be a lot and probably ruin the footage. not sure why you would want to put a go pro on it though?
This is definitely the most badass RC pilot I've ever seen in my whole life!!! Gosh he can fly! Period!

This is utter insanity. I'm pretty sure at least 2 dozen times I thought to myself "IT Crashed! oh no its fine. NO IT DEFINITELY JUST CRASHED... oh, nope its fine. IT JUST CRASHED FOR REAL THIS TIME.... oh wait it just shot back into the air and did a kick flip." This is beyond amazing.

Trust me, you wouldnt see much, its just to fast, not pleasant at all to watch.

it wouldnt be so dad there are a lot very light weight cameras out there.
but the footage is just not nice to look at.
also its very hard to not get any virbrations into the cam.

I think I cant start as 50 years, or 48 and get good. I feel some of the stuff(And I just talk orientation, and how to fly a perfect circle or make a loop, well the loop is pretty easy, specially if you have Poenix Sim, just throttle positive, negative and back to positive, after where in the loop you are. But I feel to be THIS good, you need to have been flying for many years. And this video, just nuts impressive... Thx for the share... Good motivation for new like me..
