Like, we have the internet and programs that can teach use better than any teacher the school could offer... What would I suggest those who can't go to university right now do? Work, or learn online. I would feel bad for them if they got through University and had 0 work experience, as someone who studied business they pounded it into my head and I found out when I got into the real world, if you don't have work experience, you aren't getting a job. Businesses hire people they trust, that's why they ask for references, statics show that the most likely people to get jobs are people working up the ladder, meaning, if you want to be hired on as the engineer you're going to need to start as the maintenance person, and work your way up. (It's stupid how people are nepotistic, but it's how they are...)
