I’ve been watching your channel as I have a dream of one day doing the same adventure. I spent 3 years living on Anguilla when I was working on what is now the 4 seasons hotel. Great video that has brought back some fantastic memories.
Great clip of Anguilla..we miss it....you should have climbed down the rope at Little Bay..so worth it! We built a small villa just above Sandy Hill / Seafeathers bay years ago..and yes the best part of Anguilla besides the great beaches is the wonderful People! Safe sailing 🙂🇨🇦🥂
Hi Paul, Gail. Nice to konw someone who has lived there. The people were so so different to any other island in the Caribbean. I don't know if it's the security they get from being British, but they were all so calm, friendly and zero aggressive.

WoW! Eye candy all the way. Beautiful video. Exceptional resorts with gorgeous beaches. Surprisingly low depths sailing between islands... thank you for sharing. Just what I needed looking out at a rainy and cold day 🌞.
It really was a pretty island .... being a coral island, it is a bit flat compared to standard Caribbean volcanos, but that coral makes the wonderful beaches white. White beach - blue sea - blue sky, does something to the human pleasure senses!
Yes, it turned out to be one of our favorits. THe people were so calm, happy and apparently much more contented than other islands .... and noteably much less of the usual "standing around drinking and smoking".
Gidday guys. It's nice to see sailors, as opposed to people on a boat, who sail and not motor 10nm, who put out jib and main to balance the vessel and who sail a tack to reach their destination, including a windward beat, rather than the all too common 'the wind wasn't going where we wanted so we motored'. Thank you. Anguilla looked lovely but the classic big divide between resorts and money and residents. It reminded me of Mauritius. Were there any 'pension' style accommodations in the shaby sheik areas? Stay safe, Ron 🤓🇦🇺
Thanks Ron .... no, we really didnt see any mid range places to stay (other than our boat!). And if you on booking.com the prices are not for the faint hearted! WIth regards to the "divide" you mention .... its huge, all over the Caribbean, sadly.

Yes, it can do. Takes about 1 hour of editing time per 1 minute of TH-cam. But luckily I have plenty of time on my hands right now, to catch up, while away from the boat. More to come in the next few weeks.
This video was AWESOME and edited in top Cloudy Bay fashion 👍 This was in early 2019? I ask because some of the scenes look like lockdown without people. All the while spectacular.
Yes, this was early 2019 .... pre-lock down, pre-Covid. To be honest, apart from when the dreaded cruise liners are in port .... most Caribbean islands do have this deserted feel about them.
Another great video. Could you explain the flag you fly on cloudy bay please. I cloudy a UK registered yacht. As a new sailor and yacht owner myself it the details in your videos I love and learn so much from. Thanks so much for sharing 😊
Darren, Cloudy Bay is registered in Gibraltar. Gibralter has what they call a de-faced ensign. So the same as a UK ensign but with the Gibraltar emblem in the middle. An "ensign" is the British flag flown on all British boats.

New to your site; great videos. What camera/lens do you use for your videos? What ever it is the colors and clarity is much better than others I have seen.
Thanks George. Glad you like them. The camera is a simple GoPro and the Drone is a Mavic Pro. Both shot and edited in full 4K resolution. The 4K is the great clarity you see. I think the colours were care-of the spectacular light in Anguilla, on it's white sands and blue sea and skies.
I've been kiting on and off since 2007. But to be honest I haven't progressed much in the last 10 years... I don't do jumps quite as bravely as I used to! I used to windsurf but you really have to be super fit and strong to do that in strong winds. Whereas kiting: I can kitesurf for hours, even at my age, and not get tired.
@@SailCloudyBay I have thought of giving it a try one day but the west coast of Portugal where I live, with its strong northerly winds and Atlantic waves is not exactly the easiest for a 53 yr old to get started. A little intimidating for me. Must find a lake to start learning. Hopefully haven’t left it too late :)
I certainly don't think it's too late for you. But yes, find the ideal place to start with, and above all DO get lessons. I tried without at first, thinking I didn't need them, and ended up losing a lot of skin off my legs and ruining a whole summer. And I would not necessarily advise a lake setting, because the winds are not stable on a lake. The key safety factor when learning to kite is the wind should be steady, not gusty. Oh, and be prepared to swallow quite bit of water in your first day or 2!
On this island, we just wandered in. Other islands the security sometimes stops us, but once they know we are using the restaurant we are normally let in. We are quite expert at this game! :)

How do you gain access to those nice hotels and resorts? Do you have to pay for entry or just buy drinks or a meal?
