    You're calling this a cashgrab as if the actual card game isn't literally the exact same thing just more in depth. People spend a lot collecting and making the best decks for competition, that's just the nature of any TCG in any form. And if it's such a problem just play hella casual, take the two free packs a day and just chill.

      Normal TCG has fixed luck and packets with real life monetary value, my point is this online version is controlled and more of a blind gamble in my opinion, but I do tend to agree !

    Eh, I have to disagree with this. I haven't spent a single penny and I'm having a blast with events and PVP. I pulled Mewtwo EX, gold foil Venusaur EX, gold foil Gengar, two Charizard EX, Pikachu EX, Zapdos EX, Wigglytuff EX.... and not a single cent was lost from my bank account. I'm able to win against competitive decks in PVP using my Mewtwo deck or my Venusaur deck, neither of which are "meta" with the way I have it set up. This isn't a cash grab and it's not pay to win.

    No, spending money is merely an option, it's not forced upon us, I've built a great deck using only the free currency and I haven't spent a dime, sure it's luck based but at this point what game isn't, RNG is in everything, it's still fun opening packs every 6 hours and sometimes opening more when you get the extra currency. There's literally an option to get the cards you want if you're luck is just disgustingly horrible, using it's seperate currency that you get by literally opening the packs, eventually when you open enough you'll either get it through the packs or save up enough for the specific card you want. I've only been playing for 2 weeks and I've gotten countless great cards without spending money.

    • @zacziggarot

      It's not about it being optional, it's about scummy practices that get users hooked and more likely to spend money

    • @mazisgone
      @mazisgone 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @zacziggarot It really is a optional thing, if you can't fight the urge to spend money then thats just a you problem lmao, it's not like we're bombarded with ads on the homescreen showing off a "Special Beginner's Deck for only 9.99!!!" It's still tamed and low profile, you're not forced to buy these things, I'm happily spending my time doing other things like dueling and actually living a life before the packs go off cooldown, it's a game which you don't really have to take seriously, it's fun opening packs. It's practically the same as buying irl packs just without the absurb prices and shady dealings, besides it's a free game, you get free packs every 6 hours maybe even open like 4-5 a day if you do the quest and events, what do you expect, it's still tamed and not forced upon you thus it being optional is true, you can't expect everything to just be free and stuff, if you think this is bad then you don't know what's good, we're lucky to even have this grace period of the game being not as scummy as you say and actually playable and fun, meta is meta that's a duel problem, I'm only here to collect cool cards and display them. Think about it, how do you want them to make money? Ads? Isn't that annoying, this is the most passive way they can do it while benefiting our experience through the no forced purchases thingy, I've seen much more worse games with much more scummy tactics to get into your wallet. My point is, it's not as scummy as you think if you really just do the quest and stay true to the f2p method.

    But how do they make money? What do ppl propose DeNa to do to make money? Only buy cosmetics? You cant spend money to outright by EX cards. That would be unfair. • @PolarTiers
      @PolarTiers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it’s true you can’t directly buy EX cards, players who spend more still have higher odds of building competitive decks faster due to sheer volume of packs opened. This model disadvantages players who can’t or won’t spend money, as their progress is slower, making the experience feel less fair over time.

    furthermore this is only the first set of booster pack, as more will release will add depth to the game..
    also, saying ptcgp is scam doesnt make ptcg any less scam.. you know the whole bussiness..
    what i mean is even if real card has some value, i feel like i will spent more money than getting money out of the card, beside, i don't have friend to play with, but my all my friends play ptcgp.. so thats why ptcgp has alot of player,, if you ever wonder..

  • @dandan3045
    @dandan3045 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    OMG, a mobile game with a gacha system!!! The casual aspect is fair enough. Being able to wonder pick an EX card, or even a normal card to complete a deck is pretty good system. You expect every time you do a wonder pick to get the card you're after, that's straight stupid. Also the single player event gave us Lapras EX and good basic cards with nice effects like butterfree and mankey with another single player event before the end of the month.
    The only worry players have is how the devs will handle trading and future content. So far, it's been a good first few weeks.

Cause you don't need the fancy cards to win games. and also the battles is a high chance of in what order you draw cards. played for a week now and have plenty of great cards. Just imagine games before where took you months and years of grinding to play, for example "World of warcraft"
    Large portion of the player base is over 30y and don't have the time or energy so pay to keep up is very usefull. And when groceries is 200$ then 8$ for bunch of packs seems like nothing.

    It's a free game, you get free packs every day. I've been playing for 1 month and have already opened more than 150 packs (30 from the pass and the rest completely free). I have 6 top-tier decks and only spent $10 on the game.

    • @PolarTiers
      @PolarTiers  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Daily Rewards Aren’t Enough for Consistent Progress. While the game provides daily packs, those alone rarely give players access to the best cards or decks without a significant time investment. Many top-tier cards are still difficult to obtain without spending or grinding extensively, which can make the game frustrating for new players who want to compete at a higher level quickly.
      Games like these often introduce stronger cards regularly, which pushes players to spend to stay competitive. Even if a player currently has six top-tier decks, these may quickly become outdated, pressuring them to spend more to keep up with the meta.
      Opening many packs also doesn’t necessarily guarantee valuable cards or cards that players need. This randomness is part of the game’s revenue model, as it encourages players to keep buying in hopes of getting specific cards, mimicking gambling-like mechanics.

    • @Bleewons
      @Bleewons 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @PolarTiers First. If you want to compete at a high level quickly, honestly, that's your problem. You can’t expect a completely free game to give you the tools for competitive play without spending money, investing time completing missions, or simply waiting for free packs.
      The most important/difficult cards to get are the Ex cards and the supporters.
      From my experience, Ex cards aren’t that hard to obtain. Currently, I have 31 Ex cards (including the full art ones) from approximately 150 packs. That would be one Ex card every 5 packs.
      And for supporters, I have 26, which would be about one every 6 packs.
      You can also get specific cards with pack points (which you earn by opening packs). I have 975 points, and so far, I’ve only spent 70 on Kirlia because it was the only card I was missing from the MewTwo pack, and I didn’t want to keep opening those packs just for a stage 1 card.
      Ex cards cost 500 points, and supporters only cost 70. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth spending points on Ex cards, but it is worth spending 70 points on a supporter card or any stage 1 card.
      In the near future, trades will be possible, making it even easier to get the cards you want.
      My brother started playing at the same time as I did and has almost the same number of Ex cards and supporters. He also only spent $10.

I dont have the worst cards but I for sure don't have the best and hell can barely even make "good" decks or any "meta" decks but yet I have to face people who have spent so much money there level is 20+ mine and they have every card for these meta decks and on top of that getting cards is randomized. I have decks that are 70% mons and 30% support cards but yet I can have games where I don't get a single pokemon while they get there ex mons and mons that take 3 turns to evolve round 1 then I say to myself ok that's just luck but yet it happens again and again and again. And then there coin flipping have the hell are you gonna tell me its a fair 50/50 when they just got 20 coin flips in a row while i cant even get 1 Mainly what im trying to say is battling is insanely unbalanced I shouldn't be facing people who spent 50 bucks on the game for better cards or someone who is 20-30 levels above me who are obviously gonna have better cards because they have opened so many packs there that level its just really unfair.
