I think this could've benefitted more from playing as The Lost, or even Tainted Lost. Just balance out getting perfection, it would probably have to be Tainted Lost.

The ladder would give you rooms with 2-5 items every floor to take or reroll.
Alternatively, rather than guaranteeing a pity roll after X failed rolls, have the dice add 1 to a "hidden" luck counter, or manually add a Lucky Foot to your inventory, and once Death Certificate procs, the luck counter goes back to 0, or if going the Lucky Foot route, remove all the Lucky Foot instances until you get back to the character's default value (without removing any luck obtained from other items, like Latch Key, or Luck Up pills).
Lucky Foot has secondary effects, though. Like all good pills and higher gambling odds.
Could be cool to increase luck to like 10-15 and reroll every item. If you get a death certificate, then you are only allowed to pick an item from the first room in a death certificate floor(but idk if items you see are randomly placed in there, so might not be that interesting)
Items are placed by ID, so the first room contains stuff like inner eye, spoon bender, magic mush, sad onion, etc.

This was a weirdly balanced run.
Trying this with the Lost would most likely yield better results, you could also HAVE to use the dice on every item. I think the choice of the first item to pick would be quite obvious with him.
It would've been a better strategy to get the lucky charm to increase your odds of the death certificate dice to pay out

It seems like an item you would only really use on very high luck, very bad items, or if the run's desperate. It's super interesting though.
Maybe try it with The Lost so you will get perfection
it would be interesting if when you use the dice and it consumes the item, it gave like a .25 or .5 luck up. helps increase your odds for the next roll but doesn’t make it too easy

Idea: do the every item per floor challenge, but you have this item in your pocket slot. Could really balance both challenges.

@@brunoscotto4549 I haven't checked in a while so this might be outdated information but I think Da Rules can make exceptions for specific items. He did it for quest items for maybe he can set it to keep death certificate. I'm not sure.

I guess it will be okay for me (i know lots of ppls will think other way about my thoughts), ADD for youreself PERFECTION trinket, on the start, and play as the lost - It would be acceptable equalizing difficulties. You will have 15% for death certificate, but still u can't be hitted more than 2 times. Fair enough? What's u guys think?
Unrelated comment for the type of video, but for the Every Floor is ___ item challenge, you should start the beginning of every floor by rolling 2 numbers. The first one is for the active item you can take with you FOR THE ENTIRE FLOOR. Reroll this item at the start of every floor. The second number you RNG is your passive item you would find through out the floor that you could potentially stack. I think this would enable you to make quite a few videos based on that criteria for active items.

For like... ANY other game I think the Genshin system makes sense, but something about it just being a raw, numerical percentage (which could maybe be affected by stats / items?) feels very Binding of Isaac.
24:08 Sooo... I counted, and... There were 42 unsuccessful rerolls in total, if I'm not mistaken. "What are the odds?", you may ask. I counted. 11,6%, ish. Taking into consideration those 42 fails and one successful reroll the odds of Hutts having those exact reroll stats comes up at 0,58%. It was time to pay for all those years of Hutt's luck.

the problem with this mod is that it's so feast or famine that you *have* to go for items that trivialize the game. Without going insane with dice rooms and refreshes, you only get 30-40 items on a run, which is 1.5-2 death certificates on average if you use it every time. And there are relatively few items that are so worthless they add zero utility, except things like active items when you already have one that's more useful.
I think it would be more of a real item if there were some meaningful risk to using it but it had a higher probability of working. as a possible example, it could have a 10% chance of working per broken heart, but consume the item in the room and give a broken heart on use (and maybe break after it's successful twice or something?). Like yes, now you have C section but you gave up 7 items and have 3 HP on double damage floors

Death's Dice + Lost
Pretty much guarantees Perfection trinket, up to 15% chance + any other luck upgrades. Higher risk, higher reward.
Great vid. I have a crazy idea what if you had somewhere between 25%-50%-75% chance BUT permanent curse of the blind
It's cool, but I feel the odds are way out of favour. Unless a pity system is in place, like you said, I think a 10% chance is good to start with, and each luck up is only .5 luck instead of 1 means it's still a high-risk, high reward situation.
I would love to see a challenge with this but I’m not exactly sure what it would be
you know that dice is a litlle underpowered you could use that dice on every item you come across and not get one death certificate so i feel like it needs to be a little buffed like instead of just 5 percent chance to get one it should be like 20 percent chance or everytime you get luck up it goes up by like 5 percent more likely to get death certificate
How about this Hutts, death dice but after every 10 items you do not get the certificate you give yourself 10 more luck capping at 50 luck. This way the run has a chance to become bonkers but still stay fair.
You could do a run with controls switched from right hand to left hand etc. And blinded by one eye and cat at Your lap and straw with tea in front.
Anyway... xD idk what i wrote there. It's nice to see a video from You from time to time i guess and no matter the game, but some character mods are nice.
You could also do huge mod list and install unholy amout of mods to see what happens ingame.

Idea: give yourself 5 luck, but every item must be re-rolled with death dice. If you think its too easy don't start with bonus luck. If you think it's to hard... skill issue
Maybe you can try playing as tainted keeper? I feel like t keeper spawns so many coins that some of them are bound to be lucky penny.
If you get perfection it will definitely help. Tho obviously it will be hard to get perfection especially as tainted keeper
So first item to take could be holy mantle
Second item could be Damocles

It should just be pure RNG (which is how it is currently).
Yeah without perfection its suck. Seems like you should play vary carefully. Get perfection and rock bottom and than you can enjoy this new death dice
It does feel actuqlly balanced. You had to sacrifice a lot for an item to gaurentee the win, you got pretty much nothing else. Admittedly i did see Lazy Mattman get a broken run with it but still, it feels pretty well balanced
With the lost+10 luck...
Maybe after clearing a full floor, you'll get yourself 1+ luck? With more floors, you will have more chance to get death certificate 🤔

I know perfection does, but that's not an item. Cause, if there is, you could get that on your first death certificate, and then much higher chance to get more.
Seems like an amazing item for the lost. You'll get perfection on floor 3 and have a 15% chance instead of 5.
I think this item doesn't add very much to the game. Seeing as it is itself an active, if it only activates once, it's the same thing as having found a death certificate in the first place. And due to the lost items, the run will be quite puristic otherwise. Not to mention that rock bottom, good as it is, makes for a generally uninteresting run
Start with death dice. Every item is a luck up (except those in death cert room). Have to decide how many luck items you want before trying to get other items with death dice.
I think it would have been a good idea to get items that buff luck hard from the death certificate, to get more death certs, stonks.
Realy fun challange, but needs little buff, like +3 or +5 luck in the start, and little debuff, like not picking t4 items and rock bottom

I like the idea of death dice, but with only a 5% chance, it's kinda rough. Maybe if it gave you a lucky penny each time it made an item vanish, that'd be better
You should do it where Everytime you roll and you dont get death certificate you give yourself a luck up pill and when you finally get a death certificate you reset your luck back to zero .
This item can either be lame and stupid or cool and overpowered. With 5% chance and 20 lost items... it's lame :D
Also challange idea. Every item is luck foot, but you start with death dice.
rules would need to be set up of course that it only happens on the original item and that it ignores the death certificate rooms, not sure if possible
Forming a strategy to max your luck once you get your first and second death certificate would probably have been the way to go.
I don't think people would take this item if it was in the game, unless they had crazy high luck

not a great mod imo. getting deprived of an item is somewhat fun if you get a reward sometimes, like with the sacred dice. unfortunately it just seems as though the reward spawns too infrequently.
Hear me out get Death Certificate w DD, then get Holy mantle, no hot 3 floors get perfection, plus 11% chance or just play the lost lol

I used this mod and my first roll was a death certificate. I thought it was bugged, but then didn't get another one until like the womb lol
If luck gave +2% instead, it’d 100% be a lot better. Overall a really cool item

Hutts here some idea, you can start with a bag of crafting to compensate the low chance of death dice but with the cost of consumables

This would be better as the lost or t. Lost, due to guaranteed perfection for +10 luck
