Question: what are some of the names of the plastic items used, especially with extra large pizzas, holding up the box lid in the middle of the pizza? Some restaurants have used ounce serving cups upside down. Any collecters?
Yosemite pizza restaurant doesn't have boxes. They just have a circle of cardboard underneath the pizza and put it in a paper bag. Much less waste.
In certain areas in Tokyo, though, pizza boxes aren't recyclable because all the food stuff like dough and cheese stick to the box.
Most municipalities I've ever lived in will not/cannot recycle pizza boxes for the reasons mentioned.

Because they are usually gunky with sauce, cheese, and used napkins. Pretty obvious.
