    Just bought a 10 year old PCX150, I did a DIY refurbish.. everything works. We have the idle stop function here in my country, nice to have but not a necessities. This scooter is not that popular in my country because the Yamaha Xmax and Honda ADV out shine this gem, that the reason why you can pick this one at a very low cost. Honestly it’s a Honda, it will last and last and last.
    You are right, it’s a great little scooter.. I am planning to ride up north to Thailand (I am in Malaysia) with this scooter.

    On a side note...you're doing an awful lot of weazing there brother...No time like today to start taking better care of yourself. The scooter is great, but maybe a few days a week it'd be better to leave it parked and walk to where you're going...I wish you a long and healthy life.

    I got the 2022, Pearl White, in the Philippines, dual disc brakes, and no kill switch (it has a switch on/off system that turns off the engine at lights in that area) got mine for 140,000P or about $2500. LOVE THIS BIKE! I love riding it, it is like riding a cloud. Your comments about being a man on these, dude, this bike is like a Cadillac in the Philippines. I lived in the shitty USA for 46 years and retired early and love it out here. Your comments on being a man made be realize again I made the right choice. Filipino people work so hard and they are all real men and women out here, especially the women, man o man, are they REAL women, treat men like kings and just enjoy being a woman. This bike gets head turns constantly and everyone loves it. My gf family rode it all around and they all said it's amazing. My girl says she feels like she is in a car on the back of it. Worth every penny. Never care what other people think. Ain't worth it. Enjoy the inflation!

  • @Techridr
    @Techridr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm a mechanic and I call BS on MPG claims here. Higher-octane fuel technically has less energy than lower-octane fuel. It’s the higher octane fuel's ability to be compressed more without pre-igniting that results in more power or efficiency when used in a higher compression engine that would knock or ping with lower octane. Premium gas is not “stronger” gas. Always use what is recommended for actual best efficiency.

    • @lordboker
      @lordboker ปีที่แล้ว

      the KF47E engine that is used on PCX160 (as well as ADV 160 and Vario/Click160 for SEA market) has 12:1 CR, so indeed a premium or high octane gas is recommended
      personally i have the Vario 160 which uses the same engine here in Indonesia, and yeah when using higher octane gas (i used RON 98 V-Power Nitro+ from Shell) i could get around 45km/L, but when i filled it with lower octane, i only got 38km/L (i'm using full to full method for measuring fuel consumption)

    • @TuNnL
      @TuNnL ปีที่แล้ว

      The Honda ADV 350 (Interstate freeway capable) is clearly the best scooter out there, but unfortunately, unavailable in the United States. From a value and reliability standpoint, Kymco is good brand but a notch below Honda, Vespa and Yamaha.
      I'm personally waiting for the U.S. debut of the Honda ADV 160, which is the "Adventure" version of the PCX 160 in this video. U.S. Honda dealers are much less eager to bring in their higher-end scooters, nowadays. 💁🏻‍♂️🛵🤷

    Picked up the same scooter in Dallas TX yesterday, the dealer ripped me off on the price. I paid a total of $5500 for mine (MSRP is $3999). I rode that bad boy 340 miles through 3 thunderstorms on country roads and got home to Houston TX 7.5 hours later. I weigh 200 pounds and this scooter was struggling to get past 60mph. My gas mileage was about 65mpg with the premium gas.

    I live in a van and camp outside of time so I'm wanting to haul around a toy that gets me around town for groceries. Ebikes are too damn expensive for what you get and servicing those things can be a nightmare. Motorcycles are too heavy and overkill for my needs.
    These scooters or mini Motos or whatever you call em are perfect if the serviceability is there. It's Honda so I'd be surprised if not, can anyone confirm or deny?

      I just recently picked up a used low mileage 2018 PCX150 for a good deal here in Canada, as Honda Canada hasn't been bringing these scoots in for a few years, and I think the PCX is an amazing little ride. After 40 yrs of riding bikes I finally sat on and bought my first scooter last year, a 2022 Yamaha BWS125 (ZUMA), but went for a little more power and comfort with the PCX. With all of the body work, it's definitely a little bit more cumbersome doing maintenance on the scoots, and more expensive if you're going to get a shop to do it. If it were me living in a a van, I'd go for the Honda Trail125 as it's lighter and it looks easier to do the maintenance. Strap a milk crate onto the back rack and go to town...plus the Trail125 likely will fit in better with your "camping" lifestyle. Good luck.

    Hi! Greetings from the philippines. Did i hear it right you paid 3,799 US dollar? That is equivalent to 189,950 pesos here in my country. Is your pcx 160 the cbs variant or the abs variant? There are two variants that came out here: anti-lock braking system (abs) variant and combi brake system (cbs) variant. Abs variant is priced at 133,900 pesos or 2,678 US dollar. While on the other hand, Cbs variant is priced at 115,900 pesos or 2,318 US dollar. Also, I noticed that your pcx doesnt have the keyless feature; however, here in my country both abs and cbs variants already have the keyless feature. We don't have the hand break feature and I wish we had the hand break feature. It looks awesome bruh... Actually, I bought mine 3 weeks ago. So far so good. Overall performance is amazing! I love it! Great job honda. Thank you and enjoy your new toy buddy!

      Greetings from the US.
      In the States if you want to own a 2021 Honda ABS PCX, you will pay approximately $5500-$6000 to own the scooter.
      You will end up paying double the price for the scooter that customers in Europe and Asia pay. The added insult is the PCX scooters sold in the States does not have dual hydraulic brakes. The PCX does not have hazard lights. The PCX does not have Engine idle control switch. The PCX does not have keyless remote.
      Basically it's a shit scooter for double the price customers pay in Europe and Asia.

    Nate - Good review. About the storage door up on the "dash" area. As I was watching your video, I was thinking I sure wish it had a cup holder. It looked like with that door open it had the shape to hold a bottle. And you mentioned it would hold a liter bottle. But I wasn't sure if you meant it would hold the liter bottle INSIDE the storage area, or if your meaning was that it would hold the liter bottle inside the open lid. It wasn't perfectly clear the shape of the lid. Would you clarify? And thanks!

      @@1966johnnywayne Yes, it's definitely cheaper here. I think the ABS model is closer to $2600 while in the U.S. it would be at least $4,000. I ended up buying a Yamaha Qbix with a smaller 125cc engine, for $1,400.

      @@1966johnnywayne It cost me around 20 CND a month to ride 500KM. Gas is around 1.37 CND a liter here. Cars are more expensive here than back there though. My neighbor bought an MG HS(SUV) for 40,000 CND and he got a 10% discount because MG is promoting their brand. A Honda CRV 1.5 turbo is 65,000 CND here. Other Cons about living in Thailand is it's one of the most dangerous places in the world to ride a motorcycle. Also all of Asia is extremely bad with air pollution esp. in dry season. Very high traffic with small streets/alleys. Pros are no rules riding motorbikes except have a license and wear helmet. Weather is outstanding for 10 months. I only have 3 bills a month here, compared to 12 bills a month there. Total cost for everything here is about 1,300 CND a month and that's living pretty good. 2,000 CND a month is almost insane here. I prob will be here 3 years then either a sailboat or S. America(Brazil/Colombia) but never back in a western country.
