agreed..... the RSv4 seats you closer to the handle bars so it puts less strain on the lower back, but the wrist and knees still get put through the ringer... Sport Touring bikes are a lot more comfortable than both the RSV4 and S1000RR , and once you've owned one there is no way you could ever say the S1000RR is a comfortable bike
Hi there, do you think is wise to jump to this bike from CBR 400 RR? I have been ridden it for nearly 6 years now and now is thinking to upgrade. Would it be "safer" to get my hand on the new R6 instead of this? Cheers mate and appreciate the reply.
Just J yeah you’re wrong on valves. I owned a 959 and now V4. Go check the maintenance frequency on values for anything Ducati starting in Like 2015 and beyond. Verses before that. You will quickly see they do not need to be done anywhere near what you are thinking.
Entertaining and fun - you won't enjoy it. The suspension, chassis and riding position work when the bike is being pushed hard and ridden fast. Do that as a learner and you'll crash your brains out, get arrested or both. If you really want this style, go racing - that's what sports bikes are ultimately for. Learn to ride fast, then buy a fast bike.
Entertaining and fun justify it anyway you like, it's your decision. But if you don't want advice, don't phrase your questions like you do. I think it would be a stupid bike for a learner to buy.
is this any good for a first motorbike? im 16 5 foot 8 and got myself money to buy a sport bike thinking about getting a cbr1000rr or this. not using it as a race bike or something but in the future only be using it to ride to college i just want high powered machine with a looks if a sports bike
@@cplusplussizeddick1430 pretty old comment. mom saved all the cash gifts since i was a baby + cash i worked for totaled to like 9k 2 years ago. Didnt get one tho i became scared at motorcycles when i crashed pretty bad in my 150cc dirt bike currently saving for an ford explorer or some other suv
Christian 77 nice. I'm still getting used to 160hp on my monster as well as all the torque that follows lol. people who say you won't use the power should just stick to there Chinese scooters before they wind up having a fucked up day lol
Did anybody else get really nervous watching the first 20 seconds of this video?? Seeing the guy turning into the corner whilst trail braking on a white line!? Recipe for a big low-side shaped disaster. That bike got veeeeery twitchy!
Cycle Torque well I know I wouldn’t bother risking doing anything on white lines as they are like glass. The fact that you can see the front end twitching says it all. Especially at the relatively low speed.
"but how often can you really use that power?!?" It's not about peak power. You have 10,000 rpm more or less to use. What percentage of the 1299's power does the 959 make at each RPM, and what is the road speed vs rpm for each bike? Given that the 959 weighs even more than the 1299, peak power is hardly the issue. It's the power away from peak power that really matters, after the cost of course. And the wider tire for the 1299.
This is literally one of the worst motorcycle reviews I've ever seen in my life. Ducati makes premium Italian sportbikes, lusted after by millions around the world. To capitalize on this, you decide to drape somebody's Grandpa over the seat, inject him full of tranquilizers, and then ask him to talk about why he likes the bike. I've heard people talk about granola with more enthusiasm than this guy. Please have someone with a resting heart rate above 30 do the next review
Ducati is the most unreliable Motorcycle of all time. As like any other Italian Product out there, expensive but unreliable. Besides all that The bike looks sexy and whatever product comes out of Italy always Look Sexy.
Im buying but got little from your video, sorry, was a bland one mate, it would be rough to say this is click bait but it came to mind after the 4 minutes.
I've owned several Ducatis, but I disagree with this review. The 959 has too many compromises over the 1299 for the price. It loses way too much for the price point, no way is it 'excellent value for money', it is much more than a Japanese litre bike. "although you don't have the electronic active suspension that comes on the 1299, especially the 1299 S", hmmm, that would be ONLY the 1299 S.
A sports bike is not necessarily uncomfortable. BMW S1000RR is surprisingly comfortable and one can ride it all day long without any problems.
You might be able to ride an S 1000 RR all day. Mortals can't.
I am 53 and not special in any way.
sigh..
Motolover Exactly I would rather the S1000rr for the same price.

It is cheaper than Japanese liter bike...also less horse power
I used to have an R1 I loved it but not the way it handled. I'm going to own one of these one day.
@Anthony Galeano no sadly haha I take the bus everywhere
I had cbr1000 sold it and got 899, amazing bike, head turner, the sound is just sexy as hell

Either that rider is really tall, or that bike is hilariously tiny. A great value until you need to get the valves inspected every year or two.
I'm 185cm or 6'1". The bike is very small, like a Supersport. Ducati has extended the time between valve clearance checks in recent years.
Jeremy T and the comment for the kid has no idea what he is talking about goes to........ you

Chaz Davis can't use a 1299 he uses a 1199 still
till the same power....so whats your point
But the exhaust in europe is ugly :(
Yes. Easily fixed though.
just cant wait to get one caaaant waaaiiiit :D
Good honest review.
Hows the clutch pull? Ive rode the 899 and it felt like trying to pull in 100kg
Don’t recall it being anything out of the ordinary. I’d say the one you rode needed work…
@@cycletorquemotoSweet
I was thinking the same thing
Cheers
is it good for beginners?
Entertaining and fun - No. Buy a Monster or Scrambler. Easier to ride and more fun to learn on.
But I really like this style , I can just get it and put it on wet mode to keep the horsepower down. And just take it slow .

My brother never ride a bike and he got 2011 Ducati evo 848 cc, he started slow and he still has it and driving it with no problem.

“So close to 1000 cc its not funny” 😂😂
I heard they have alot of problems
I had none, my experience

I'm surprised you bothered replying then: thanks for the feedback.
As a 959 owner , stay away from it .
Get a R6 or Cbr1000RR/S1000RR if you want to go for a liter bike .
I have set my mind to sell mine .
Keep safe xx
Tell us why please?

The presenter put me to sleep.
Can't understand a word he's saying. What is his accent. It's awful.
No, it’s Aussie.
Sounds like New Zealand too me, and I’m a little bit qualified to know, I’m an Australian.
Why does it sound like a 250 four stroke.sounds shit
I was thinking that, ones I hear sound awesome, surprised Ducati havent asked him to take his video down ha ha
Sounds fucking awful
