At 9:58 you have Porosity equaling 38.9% is that an error? Because when I did mine I got (0.0058/0.0157)x(100%) = 36.9%. Am I do something wrong? Also why is the Water content divided by the dried sample and not the original sample weight. aren't we trying to figure out how much water was in the original sample?
You probably found the answer to this. However, it was a given Specific Gravity. This problem started with 4 Given values: 1.The weight of solids. 1.65 lb 2.Total Weight 1.95 lb 3.Volume (which was calculated and converted from inches cubed to feet cubed. 0.0157 feet^3 4.Specific Gravity 2.66
