@@StarTrekPhase2 Unquestionably (poor) replicas. I started collecting props when I was 15, and would have laughed at those things back then. The toy shop guy should have just admitted he was over his head and walked. As a result, I wouldn't trust anything he said if he was called in to give "expert advice".

Fun fact: the first appearance of a “flip phone” in media was actually in 1928, with Philip Francis Nowlan’s “Armageddon 2419 A.D”
But the first depiction of mobile phone was earlier. in 1915 Harry Stephen Keeler’s short story “John Jone’s Dollar”, refers to a cylinder shaped phone where you could see lips moving in in unison with the words being spoken to the person he is talking to.

You can tell by the button on the Phaser it is NOT a prop. (Not to mention the originals were made from balsa wood, not molded from resin.) That style of phaser was pretty common at conventions some 30 years ago. And yes, I am that much of a nerd and I do own a Master Replicas Phaser signed by Leonard Nimoy. I would put the value at the 3 pieces at $100 to $150

Except in this case, it was a highball, because he didn't know these are rwo of many, many replicas that were made for collectors, not the genuine article. For what they really are, the two props together are worth $200 or so, in today's market. If they were genuine props (which they are not), they would easily sell for more than 50K each on the auction block. That's not a guess, either. That's from knowing the actual market on genuine TOS Trek props.

  • @MrMichelPM
    @MrMichelPM 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Nope.
All of those Star Trek item were “prop replicas” That PHASER was a fan produced prop by Richard Coyle.
I've owned one of these for about 30 years, now.
Not sure who produced the communicator.
It almost looks like a Brad Nelson ( StarFleet Command ) communicator styled for the never made mid 1970's Star Trek Phase II series. The drilled holes in the communicator flip up metal cover are smaller than the metal cover drilled holes of the original, screen-used props.
I own one of these, as well. Purchased while still in high school in the late 1970’s.
I suspect the tribble was fan created/made as well.
All of these are very old and she should have sold these on her own on eBay or Etsy.
She had the potential of getting that $800 or even a little higher.
These prop replicas are, at least, close to 30 years old, as of the time of that “Pawn Stars” episode.

I’m pretty sure these aren’t actual props. The communicator and phaser look like kits put together for cosplay at conventions. The tribble is nearly impossible to identify as a studio prop without some kind of certificate from the CBS/Paramount prop department. They gave the woman $500 for items that are AT MOST $100 for the entire set. If I were the shop, I wouldn’t have offered her more than $50.

  • @HarshTekie

Who did the research for the trivia plate? 94 episodes for the Original Series?!? By no one's count is there 94. 79 first-run aired episodes is the count most people go by, 2 pilots including 1 unaired.

that still would not equal 94 as there are 22 episodes of the animated series and 79 original episodes plus the un-aired pilot The Cage. By the way, those are NOT original props, the phaser is way off.
