The picture of the Abbey in the flood is a place called Tewkesbury in England (my home town). It floods regularly as it has 2 major rivers running through it, the town itself is surrounded by floodplains which is essentially what the photo is of the abbey is 100's of years old and build on higher ground to protect it.... we mostly used our common sense and built at the same level. Ironically the photo is commonly used in British papers as minor "fear mongering" when its due to rain heavily... so every fraking day ;)
