Thank you to the patron who was so thoughtful and recorded this experience for others. It is a mirror opposite to the inconsiderate patrons who felt their conversations were more important than the others' enjoyment of the show.
Sometimes the TH-cam algorithm works! I just watched @lelandsklar6363 (Lyle's bass player) walkthrough of the grounds just before the show th-cam.com/video/eBJ2n9mZS4E/w-d-xo.html This was the perfect accompaniment to that video! Thanks :)
I saw Lyle with a much different Big Band in a much less auspicious location - the Bottom Line club in Manhattan. The club is now an NYU dorm but Stern Grove lives on forever. Such a jewel. Lyle - nice seeing you with the greats Kunkle and Sklar. Wow, you’ve come along since that little club on West 4th.
Thanks for posting this Amazing gig with Lyle's amazing band. Lyles voice is sounding so good. Thats what touring does for some people. These guys and ladies are pro's.
What an amazing experience this was--that we can ALL (re)live, up close and personal! So happy sharing this with you "brainiac"--you quintessentially captured Lyle and his large band in all of their glory--even if you're not from Texas ; )
@@RockandRollWoman right. Just looked at your extensive vid list, wow, I know what I'll be doing late at night now. Are you the bootlegger or the fence? Regardless, nice job.
Why aren't there more videos of Lyle? I have followed his music since I was serving in Ft. Bragg, NC, 1999. I bought a CD in the PX store on base. Thanks for sharing!
Here's an absolute treasure of an artist, near the end of his career....and so the amount of talking & laughing during a beautiful quiet number like 'Nobody Knows Me Like My Baby" is really disappointing to me.
Love Lyle and his Large Band - always have. That's as slow as I've ever heard "Here I Am". Wow. Somehow, Kunkel keeps it from being too dull - but only barely so.
Is this the Stern Grove that I tried to find but could not a year ago? Ha it been under construction? Went in the early sixties to the band stage. It oes not look the same.
So good sitting here in Australia having breakfast and watching Lee with Lyle and the band. Love it. Thank you so much.🙏🖐
Been keeping up w/lee on a daily basis,, Great tours of all the venues.. Very grateful for the info,
Lee in my backyard. Doesn’t get any better than that.
It sure doesn’t!
A terrific band, certainly looms large in my mind! Thank You all, and TU Lee!
Thanks great music, love it, Thank you very much for posting. Awsome Sax solo.
Great band! Lee Sklar (bass) documents this tour every day on his u tube channel
... but never tells us, whether he too is wearing a necktie ;-)
@@schtepke 😂
Lee is the fundament!
@@schtepkeHe's confessed: no necktie under the beard. 😂

I saw him about 20 years ago and the woman behind me felt it was a good time to discuss the sale at Macy's. Had to set her straight.

Anyone form the crew sees this, give the FOH guy a big thumbs up! Fantastic mix...
Thanks so much for putting together this concert experience for us online viewers! What a great show and beautiful venue!
Thanks very much from Canada, Just a amazing group of musicians.
Very cool, thank you 💕 ✨️
Thanks for sharing this performance with us. What a beautiful venue to see the Lyle and the Big Band at.
I watched the live stream, but it is great seeing the experience from the audience.
Same here.
Stern Grove concerts 1mile E of the home in which I grew up is one of the few things I miss about SF.
The amount of talent on that stage is humbling
Thank you so much for sharing!
If it weren't for you, people like me would never have a chance in lifetime to 'join' such great concerts!
Thanks so much !!! 😍
Living in Europe, I missed it, cause I didn't know it's boadcasted.
And nowhere to get on demand, not even for payment.
Wonderful! Thank you ☮

Saw them all last year. Phenomenal band- how about that rhythm section, eh? Go Lee and Russ! Thanks for posting! 🎸🐶
Seen so many great shows at this venue - miss the place. Lived within walking distance and saw Anita Baker, Huey Lewis & The News....for free.
thank you! This is brilliant!
wow impressed ! what a brass-section---- cheers to the singers ---- thank you Lyle !!!!
Awesome! Thanks! 😎
Thanks for the footage! I watch Lee's videos and it's great to finally see everybody on stage doing what they do best, love it.
Love it showing the positive side of San Francisco instead of the usual doom✌
Thx for Posting!
I enjoyed it🎶🎶
This is the best instrumental group and back up singers on summer tour circuit.

The next best thing to being there -- having a good eye and ear to record it to share! 🙏🌈🦄
Sax solo @11:10 Unaccompanied magnificence!
Professor BRAD LEALI elegantly wailing on Alto
What is it with some horn players (usually alto sax IME) not knowing when to STFU? It’s usually poor players, like this guy. What an embarrassment.
Great intro ...Go Mr. SKLAR...!!!😃👍
I thought that was Leland!
@@petealba707
You Thought right 😎👍
That's Mr. Leland Sklar up there playing fantastic bass on the intro.
😎✌👍❤🖖
@@richardlynch5632 So amazing as was the whole band!

Was really hoping someone would post some of this great concert. Audio is extra good, nice job, thank you. Love the band.
No need to search for Brad.

Rock solid bass playing.

Lee killing the walking bass, as expected!
Great Band!
Going by the beard alone, I'm guessing that's Leland Sklar on bass.
nice music
❤❤❤❤
👍👍💯💯👏👏❤❤
I would hate to sit next to the talkers!
Me too!
Love Lyle Lovett! where was this? Come to Australia/New Zealand Lyle!
wow...blues walk

Shit happens, and it's called "progress". Ain't it a shame?
Why is everybody talking through this? Shut up!
You are doing pretty good if you can pull Lee Sklar!
Even the trees are bored.
Every Lyle Lovett song sounds the same..dude puts me to sleep
Then why are you listening to him?
@@JeffreyWhite-hg1pb it popped into my timeline..I didn't search it out
He's a brilliant lyricist and worth listening to for that alone.
Uninspired musical selections. Lyle once did a fabulous performance of "Friend of the Devil". C'mon, Lyle!
